So, season 3 is over, and thankfully with the best episode of the season. But...

Moriarty, WTF ?
Good news is, apparently season 4 and 5 have been signed.
Season 4 for sure. 5 is still in discussions if I remember correctly.
Spoiler
I don't think he is alive. After Mary being a former CIA agent and Sherlock "getting away with murder", Moriarty being alive would be too much.
I just think they wanted a major cliffhanger for the end of the season. Introducing a new villain wouldn't have made much of an impact so they came up with this
I don't think Moriarty is alive either, he shot himself in the head in front of Sherlock, he was investigated post mortem and all, so unless he has a twin brother or a perfect look-alike, most likely he can't and won't come back. Especially as his whole organisation is supposed to have been dismantled between seasons 2 and 3.
I rather feel something along the lines of one the Holmes brothers, if not the two of them, plotted the thing to avoid Sherlock a certain death in Eastern Europe and have him back in the domestic game. But what'd happen once it's found out Moriarty doesn't exist any more (discounting Sherlock's mind palace) ?
edit : seems season 4 could be on air at the end of this year, but it's going to be tight

Okay so this should be an interesting couple of questions:
Who's your favorite series character and why?
Who's your favorite movie characer and why?
Who's your favorite sitcom character and why?
Just to spice this thread up a little. And I'm looking for some new interesting series to watch, too
I'll start myself:
Fav series character: Cole Turner (Charmed). If anyone has seen all episodes around his character, you'll understand. Just an amazingly awesome and evil but funny character. Gave the series a massive boost, too. Fav movie character: Broken Sword (Hero). In the movie he's just so wise and I get a great vibe from the movie altogether. In the end (without spoiling) he is wise above strong. Fav sitcom character: Ross Geller (friends). From season 5 onwards, he's the funniest guy I've ever seen. His mimic is beyond funny, even. He gets in hilarious situations (Oh my God, Mona). From season 5 onwards, anything he says is just great. Here in my house we can spend hours thinking of quotes from him.
Up to you, now! WARNING: don't put big spoilers in it, though
meant to do this earlier but forgot about it and suddenly remember Who's your favorite series character and why?
Vegeta (Dragon Ball Z), it's was released in freaking 2000 so I don't think spoilers apply here even thought this is basically all he did in the whole 3rd arc he was still helpfull in defeating the villian of that arc. he also goes to major character development after he dies for a second time. he can look awesome in a pink shirt also his famous one-liners
Spoiler
"IT'S OVER 9000!", "I do a lot of pushups and situps and I drink plently of juice", "SAD FOR YOU!", "your father was a average fighter but a brilliant scientist" and many others
Who's your favorite movie characer and why?
I don't watch movies
Who's your favorite sitcom character and why?
John Michael Dorian, M.D. scrubs, enough said
Who's your favorite series character and why?
At first i thought Barney (HIMYM) cause he's hilarious and well developed. Then i thought J.D (Scrubs) for similar reasons. But it's Fry from Futurama!
Covers all the bases from comedy to drama to emotion and more. Really grows and develops as a character over the course of the shows run. Many would say Bender is the best in Futurama but you are actually just wrong. Every Fry focused episode delivers from start to finish and his quest for Leela brings out the shows top episodes and moments. He kicks it of in style when he freezes and rounds it all up again with the woman of his dreams.
Who's your favorite movie characer and why?
God damn this one is hard. I have 130GB of film of my hard-drive and i've probably seen twice that again. First thought goes to Anton Gorodetsky (Night Watch series) and then to almost anyone played by Tom Hanks. But no, the best (not just my favorite but the single best of all time) is Totoro from My Neighbour Totoro
A giant cuddly forest spirit that you can only see when your very little. Helpful, cute, funny he protects the kids through the film and provides that Ghibli magic and turns an interesting movie about kids growing up into a classic for all time. I just love him to bits and he is incredible.
Honorable mentions to: Will Hunting (Good Will Hunting), The Bride (Kill Bill), The Cast of Airplane! (Airplane!) and Evan Treborn (The Butterfly Effect)
Who's your favorite sitcom character and why?
Joint award between Barney from How I Met Your Mother and J.D. from Scrubs. Both shows that have had huge impacts on me as i grew up with them. Barney is just brilliantly played by Neil Patrick Harris and has one of the best growth arcs i've ever seen on TV let alone in a Sitcom. Equally JD is such a beautiful focus character who grows up so much across the 8 seasons of the show.
Both characters are just outstandingly written and acted and i can't chose between them
Burton Guster (Psych). Why? Because he's serious and hilarious at the same time. Not to mention the fact that his is known as the vault of secrets.
Eric Taylor (Friday Night Lights). Why? It's probably the most inspiring character I've ever seen on a movie, TV show or read about in a book. Just look at one of his speeches and you'll see why.
Who's your favorite movie characer and why?
I was going to say Batman, but I'm guessing he's more a of a comics character. So, Obi Wan Kenobi. Despite the fact that he did not age very well (), I think he's on of the best built characters in Star Wars.
Who's your favorite sitcom character and why?
George Oscar Bluth. Why? Because he knows the difference between an illusion and a trick. Too bad he gave up animation rights on Mr. Bananagrabber though.

I will post mine a bit later, but i stopped by to ask if someone is watching True Detective? That thing is absolutely amazing, with Woody Harrelson and especially Matthew McConaughey, who is becoming one of the best actors on planet, after his slow transition from sweet boy to proper acting...
So, has anyone seen the HIMYM finale? Still not sure what to make of it, but the more I think about it, the less I like it. Doesn't fit the character development, and the plot twists, well, I don't want to spoil anything here ...
What do you think of it?
Oh, and while we're at it, I'd like to start the little survey from above again:
Who's your favorite series character and why?
There are so many! If I had to decide, it'd probably be a very recent discovery: Jake Peralta from Brooklyn Nine-Nine. It's only been one season but I don't think any other character has made me laught so often.
Honorable mentions: Jack Donaghy from 30 Rock, Patrick Jane from the Mentalist, Dr. Cox from Scrubs, Sherlock Holmes (played by Benedict Cumberbatch).
Who's your favorite movie characer and why?
The Dude from The Big Lebowski. Don't think I need to explain
Who's your favorite sitcom character and why?
Has to be a Friends character, since that is my favorite show ever. I'd go with Chandler Bing, although probably limited to the first seasons, before he has the relationship with Monica.
Um... Favourite series character and why: Dr Zoidberg from Futurama- he never fails to make me laugh, which is what the rest of my favourite shows don't do enough.
Honourable mentions: Ralph Wiggum, Benedict Cumberbatch's Sherlock, as well as Martin Freeman's Watson, and David Tennant and Matt Smith's Doctors. Favourite film character: Robert Downey Jr's Iron Man. Not because of Iron Man, but the actor himself.
Honourable mentions: Kermit the Frog and Walter from the Muppets, Gru from Despicable Me, Ben Stiller's Walter Mitty. Favourite sitcom character: Carl Montclaire from little-known(I think) teen sitcom Wingin It'.

What was the point of having Robin and Barney together, splitting up, Barney not getting married with Quinn because of Robin, Robin always telling Ted she doesn't love him that way, have Robin and Barney get back together, spend an entire season at their wedding if Robin ends up with Ted and not Barney?
Somebody still watching that stupid HYMYM show? It got boring as hell since like third episode, same (bad) humour all the time.
Anyway, here is my list: Favourite series character and why:
Rust Cohle from True Detective, as he is the best acted and written character i have ever seen in the television series. Only first series are done, but Matthew McConaughey is so epic, that i cant pick otherwise. Nihilism for the win! Honourable mentions:
-Walter White from Breaking Bad
-Cartman from South Park,
-Omar Little from The Wire,
-Benjamin Linus from Lost
and of course last but not least Homer Simpson.
Favourite film character: Butch from Pulp Fiction, played by Bruce Willis. Can you get any harder? Basically Bruce Willis could occupy many spots in this section, with his acts also in Die Hard and SinCity, perfect characters, well acted. Honourable mentions:
-Vincent Vega and Jules Winfield also from Pulp Fiction
-Tyler Durnen (Brad Pitt) from Fight Club,
-Darth Vader
-Ellen Ripley from Alien
-Harry Callahan from Dirty Harry movies
-Michael Corleone from Godfather or anything else acted by Al Pacino!!!
-The Joker acted by both Nicholson and Heath Ledger
- Han Solo
- Indiana Jones
and special mention goes to most crazy actor and character ever, in person of Jack Nicholson and his Jack Torrance from The Shining
Favourite sitcom character: I dont usually watch sitcoms, as majority of them is really dumb, but when i do, Sheldon Cooper has to be the winner.
