It's from the LA Confidential book.

There was a link to the english translation somewhere on the site about a month ago.

I just found a rather funny, recent interview with LA:

Do you have any Therapeutic Use Exemptions?
No. Never have.

Never? What about the cortisone?
Well, obviously there was the cortisone.

https://www.cyclin...rview.html

Other than that, yes, I'm pretty sure that the donation thing is from LA Confidential. The original version of Armstrong denying having a TUE (other than the quote from above) can surely be found if you look in some article databases going back to 1999.

Edit: In the same interview, he confirms making a money transfer to UCI (although saying a lower amount of money than what's said in the LA Confidential book):

You made a gift to the UCI back in the early 2000s to buy anti-doping equipment. How much was it?
Er…Well, I can get you an exact number. Around 25,000 dollars. This was a long time ago.

Here's an interesting thought, what if Armstrong's retirement was not really a retirement, but a UCI doping ban of a few years kept quiet?

Crommy
Do you believe that Floyd Landis doped?
No. I think in a normal American court of law, he’s not guilty. Those arbitrations with USADA and CAS are tough. The arbitrators are in the business of arbitrating in favour of the anti-doping agencies. If I was a juror, I don’t think there was guilt beyond reasonable doubt.

Nice work LA. Sterling.

If UCI's point was banning him without let anyone know, then why was he banned? What was UCI's interest?

It's from 2008, how's it recent?

I was looking for the original quote from 1999. Instead, I found an interview from 2008 - it may not be 'recent' in its classical meaning, but it's more recent than 1999 Wink

I've fallen in love with Kimmage a little bit more...

Kimmage himself was unconcerned when we contacted him.

“I regard it as a huge compliment that he thinks so lowly of me,” he said.

Floyd has pictures of the motorcycle the Postal team used to carry the blood doping bags around, avoiding the anti-doping raids.

Lance has to say that or Landis will spill everything. Especially since Landis is extremely pissed off at Armstrong and Bruyneel treating him like they do everyone else who leaves the team (very, very badly)

another theory..
Tailwind sport just pulled a plug out because thing started to look bad.. There is no reason to believe that Lance can not find a sponsor

Haha, there's another conspiracy like that concerning Michael Jordan. That his first "retirement" in 1993 (while at the top of his game) was really a cover-up for a suspension for gambling. It's just plausible to be believable Pfft But I don't think I buy into either.

This theory makes a lot of sense people.

An anounced positive for Lance, it'd distroy cycling.
There's no point slapping a schleck - Sean Kelly on "Who needs a slap"

Waghlon
An announced positive for Armstrong would destroy cycling outside the die hard countries there are. So maybe not that big a loss.

Operation Grial in Spain continues. Today more information was made public.

Unlike Puerto, some of the athletes' names on the doping agenda aren't in code. Therefore, everyone can easily read the words "Alejandro Valverde".

That makes it 5 names publicly known then, after LL Sánchez, Moreno, Maté and Kolobnev.

Now time for some amusement

Lance Armstrong:
Taking a peruse of the cycling sites. They may wanna strengthen the editorial role. Still trying to figure out if it's English I'm reading.

Daniel Benson (Cycling News)
Apparently our spelling isn't up to scratch. So I organised a spelling bee at work. The word we all aced was corticosteroid.

(although misspelling "organized" kinda defeats the purpose Pfft)
