Good racing by Menchov. He is clearly the best guy in Italy. It's great that Basso is beaten by Pelizotti.

Di Luca doesn't see that every single day in his back

Lets just hope they will do the same in a French race in July

I agree Di Luca has really made this Giro so good to watch.
The small time gaps is something Di Luca knows is there, expect him to attack and try and gain time tomorrow.
Not the best giro route ever though, but still, Happy Birthday Giro right? |

Be glad with this Giro route guys, it was perfect for Di Luca (the mountain stages). And it's what made this race interesting.
If they'd put in more really long hard climbs, it might have been a bit worse for Di Luca |

And Sastre, that's one of the things I enjoyed watching the most in this Giro. Sastre dropping his former captain. Great stuff

Albeit it should be noted that Basso hasn't rode a grand tour in 2 years. So it wasn't that suprising Sastre dropped Basso in the end.
Also, Sastre lost 30 seconds in the last 2km on Di Luca and Menchov. It was always a 2 men race, this Giro. Leipheimer could keep up till halfway and then it was done |

Saw something a little odd on the video feed I was watching. Maybe 20 people had finished... and the astana people started downhilling back along the race route (I'm assuming because there wasn't room for their team bus at the top of the climb).
I was just thinking... guys are still coming up... how can you just sail down around the turns when the race is still going on.
Did I imagine that, or did it really happen? Is that considered "bad form"? |

They allways do that and not just Team Astana.. So shall they sit up there and wait 15minutes maybe even more on all the other cyclist...? They need to start the recovery so they cant wait so long.

You can usually see that after every mountain stage... For example: Basso did it on Blockhaus, so did many others. |

Sastre did a great ride, similar to Alp D'Huez, riding by himself. Leipheimer showed some good form, to little to late.... |

This has disturbed me on this season..more and more race profiles are like made for someone.
Di Luca - Giro (definatly long TT was not for Di Luca..without this stage he would won it)
Cancellara - Suisse tour
Valverde - Vuelta
This should change. |

LPR worked hard to catch the breakaway before the intermediate sprint, then they did the setup for Di Luca with Petacci and Menchov attacked earlier and got more bonus than Di Luca. Unbelievable.
EDIT: And now LPR has to work again to catch a new breakaway. It would be funny if at the end Di Luca doesn't get any bonus.

You guys missed the greatest race ever.
The queen stage of the Tour of Belgium.
And I'm not joking, it was brilliant. Attacks from 80km till the finish... Lars Boom and Thomas Dekker dropping Ivanov on the climb (the AGR winner Ivanov, yes). And finally Bert de Waele just staying ahead of the group Boom/Dekker, with Van Avermaet finishing 2nd and Boom 3rd.
Greatest Ardennes stage I saw of the last 10 years |

Yes. I'm even feeling sorry for him. This guy has guts. Not that I don't like Menchov to win. I think he deserves it, and, on the other hand, Ardila is on his team.
