The biggest surprises in that GC is Pellizotti beating Basso, Rogers 7th and Leipehiemer 'only' 6th.
These aren't surprise. Pellizotti is a-3rd-week man, and Basso comes from a 2-year break, Rogers in top form deserves top 10, and Levi Leipheimer wasn't really expected to win this Giro, with all the italians in top form + Menchov. His climbing lacked. |

Menchov should have tried to follow Pellizotti's wheel, at least to show he can be better at climbing than Di Luca.
...So in other words he should risk his elsewise almost completely certain giro title just to show he`s better than the guy he is beating in the overall classification?
Yeah that`s logical.
I never said it would be logical. The logical thing was to do what he did. But it would be classy.

Just to remind you people. Last year Contador won the Giro, by only following his main rivals in the mountains (he even couldn't follow in 2 stages) and doing the damage in the time trials. He never attacked or took over once...
Yet, nobody cared much, because everyone knew Contador wasn't strong enough. Now it is clear Menchov was at his limit when others (especially Di Luca) attacked, so he did what he could, follow. And yet people call that boring. So what was contador last year then?
Just saying |

He was boring, and I don't see your point. |

VG, Norway's biggest newspaper, has asked people to vote for a nickname for their new cycling star, EBH. The alternatives are pretty dumb, but choose carefully nonetheless.
https://www.vg.no/...tid=554113
P.S. In case anyone wonders, this is just for laughs, not to praise him.

They cant call EBH "The Rock". That name is already taken by someone a lot more awesome.

I've read that "The Rock" is EBH's favorite movie. I think that's why they put it up there. |

Riders have a lot of wrinkles in their face, just check Sastre. The man looks 50. They should put on some sun cream and hydrator. Metrosexual cyclists. Just wait... |

The only face that remains the same for 3 weeks, is that of Menchov. |

Menchov was all over the bike today.
But so was everyone, it's the end of a 3 week tour. |

Actually there were quite a few comments in the thread on this site last year saying it was boring... mostly from the anti-contador crowd. After it was over much of the talk on this site was on how it was one of the most boring Giro's ever. |

To be honest, that was a pretty quiet top 10 from Valjavec. I hadn't heard his name all Giro really.
...but then again, that's probably because I'm watching in America where the camera is on Lance 90% of the time. |

very annoying probably for Di Luca after all his efforts looking behind and see a pretty relaxed and cool face from Menchov.
