Coquard's still there. Sagan better watch out
Stop that Coquard hype guys, he is nowhere near yet
Great win from Peter, with whole peloton rding both races against him, bar Gesink in Qubec, great win for him there too, happy to see him win something again (but it is not much of a big impact win, for those who think he is superstar again because one win).

But Sagan is a rare kind. 23 years old, already more wins that 10-15 average professionals will ever get, just to mentioned his 22 wins this season
Fixed it for you.
55 professional wins now.

For all those who think, Froome will win WC just because he is very good on mountains, this was good indicator. He made 1 attempt to close on Gesink and then he was finished.
While someone like Sagan, went in break, then closed down Gesink and others and went solo for 5 km.

Your hatred towards Gesink for no apparent reason is amazing. You are not the guy that thought De Gendt is a good GT rider, are you?
Actually I was glad Gesink won Friday, rather than someone like Van Avermaet who was glued to Sagan's wheel instead of racing his own race. I was also rooting for Gesink yesterday because I really appreciated his attack, making it an exciting race. Same goes for Nikki Terpstra last Friday.
Hatred is a strong word, but if there's something I dislike, then it's fanboys and Dutch riders happen to have a lot of them. Seriously, it's annoying if someone triple posts to worship his hero just because he made an attack.
Also, yes, I'm the guy who thought De Gendt is a good GT rider, not a good GC rider. Back then I rated De Gendt higher than Gesink because of his 2011 Alpe d'Huez, 2012 Stelvio and 2012 Bola del Mundo, while Gesink only excelled in bad positioning and bad handling. In the end, it was a silly discussion because (as someone pointed out) they're two different types of riders.
By the way, De Gendt dropped in my estimation while Gesink went up. |

KWOK!!
Anyway, lots of crashes in the Tour of Britain already. Hunter, Visconti, Stauff and Carthy all abandoned. Adam Yates didn't start.
Breakaway of 7 up the road with Madrazo the biggest name, alongside Boem, Delaplace, Dibben, Downey, Northey and Cronshaw.
EDIT: Visconti suspected broken leg, he's in hospital at the moment. OUCH!

That'd be him out of the worlds then.

Is this real? Dan Martin and Quintana attacking on a climb in the Lake District??
This climb is absolutely brutal. Over 20% |

Great crowd too and brutal descent with a river running down the road. Let's see how the pros riding tempo compares with Strava KOM... |

Think the climb was about 0.2-0.3km longer for the pros, they seemed to start on a flater section before the Strava segment so bear that in mind.
Honiston Pass 3.52km at 7% max 30%
Strava KOM (the well known) Red squirrel 10:42
ToB Break 11:20
Martin & Quintana 10:10
I feel for Red squirrel if a rider makes a download

It may not be a great advert for the British weather but this stage is certainly showing off the landscape. Good crowds as well considering the pissing rain. |

Yeah agreed. Takes more than rain to see off the locals here (otherwise they'd not leave home 300 days a year ) |

An uphill finish today then. Will the pure sprinters like Cav be able to hang on or is this one for the punchers? I can't find details about the gradient. Maybe Haussler and Ciolek are favourites? |

IIRC from 07, it's steep up to the finish but very short as well. Great to see real aggressive racing from the big names here. |
