Don't forget the uphill finish to Anagni
Either a breakaway there, or Di Luca won't be able to drop Menchov on this climb.
Remember San Luca
Di Luca will just do to Menchov what he did at the top of the climb today. Hopefully.
Anyway, Manchov will fall apart on Vesuvius
Anagni isn't Blockhaus
But Di Luca is more explosive on the hills |

He's no. 21 in the young rider classification, only 2.09.46 back Seeldrayers. It's not over yet! |

Menchov has shown that he can cover Di Luca's attacks. Unless they get more substantial or Menchov cracks then Menchov will win the Giro. |

when Menchov attacked in the last metres and tooked some seconds to Di Luca, nobody said that Di Luca is/was in trouble. The same thing happened today, but with Menchov losing some seconds.
Because people want to cling to a faint hope that things can still excitingly turn around, so will look for anything to justify it. Even a tremendously motivated very explosive rider who excels in short stages riding in his home region outsprinting a rider who rides a gigantic gear, isn't explosive at all, and does better the longer the stage is, on the shortest-ass stage you'll find.
Bottom line, it's very unlikely Di Luca will win this Giro.
As for Sastre, if you look at every single one of his career's good performances, they came in exceedingly long and hard stages. Today was the exact opposite.

This new and improved version of Menchov looks great even on a bad day
As of today... He is my number one TdF favourite |

This is the exact same Menchov we saw in the 2007 Vuelta, and he didn't perform to that level at all in the following Tour, so don't get your hopes up already.

But Di Luca is useless at TT's. The Maglia Rosa can't make miracles. Remember Di Luca had the Maglia Rosa going into last weeks TT.
You can't compare a 60 km up and down TT to a 15 km flat TT
No.. you can't. But Di Luca always loses time on TT's wether they are flat or not. Which is the point i was trying to make.
In the final TT of 2007 Di Luca lost 30 seconds for example |

Menchov says he's happy because he's always much weaker the day after rest days.
Says friday he'll be back to his usual self.

Menchov said he had problems with the combination of a rest day with an ultra-short climbing stage. He had the worst day in 3 weeks.
Well, if Menchov on a bad day only loses 5 seconds on Di Luca, all my hopes of an exciting end are gone. Menchov's bad days aren't what they used to be. |

two last post will take this all together..
..and when I looked last climbing stage profile..this is not steep long enough to get advantage to Di Luca.. Menchov will manage there with he's big gear..
But Di Luca will try for shure..and we will have a fun to watch it..

Menchov have been beat oday, like in tour de france, he have difficulty in last week. Di luca was now the new favorite. But Sastre, BAsso Amstrong, Leipheimer, Pellizoti and Menchov will not be beat like that. Di Luca will need to work hard if he want to be in pink. |

The PCM team MUST set Vorganov's FTR stat to above 80 somewhere! When somebody attack early, Vorganov follows. He's been at the attact at almost every stage so far! |

but Di Luca doesn't just have to get ahead, he has to get ahead by a good minute or so to keep his advantage in the last TT. I think that Di Luca could get the pink jersey back at some point but he won't win overall because of the TT. All Menchov has to do now is sit on Di Luca's wheel all week. |

Menchov have to be mentally strong now in first case. It will be much harder now than facing Di Luca attacks... |

Why? Because he lost 5 seconds in 150 meters?
I doubt it. Your clinging on to something that isn't there |

What are British Eurosport doing, 3pm - Giro coverage should have started, but they started playing some British premier calendar cycling. Whilst trying to get us excited about the Tour de France by showing adverts. |
