Very true, it's legendary, just take a look at the views and the posts
But enough of all this ass-kissing, when is this Vuelta kicking off? |

Thanks, no more ass-kissing (unless you are Megan Fox or Scarlet Johanssen )
I'll post a very short report of the Dutch Food Valley Classic soon, and than I can start with collecting all necessary screens for La Vuelta. It's the 2010-route, so with google I can find all the screens of the stage profiles and some climbs. Probably this weekend the preview and soon after the first stage.

Great, I'm looking forward to it! (I always enjoy races extra when they're being raced irl at the same time, you can get in the right atmosphere ) |

The Dutch Food Valley Classic (formerly known as Veenendaal-Veenendaal) is a race that seems lesser important, but is very important for the team. The reason: it's the hometown of the DS! An after last year's failure (Kittel in 10th), we want that win now!

Our team
The favourites
*** Davide Appollonio (Sky), Theo Bos, Kristof Goddaert (Lotto).
** Gianni Meersman (FDJ), Francesco Chicchi (Eddy Merckx), Pim Ligthart.
* Anthony Ravard (Omega Pharma), Wim Stroetinga (M&M's), Jens Mulder
Our goal
As said before: the win.
The race
I had to shake too many hands today from friends and family in my hometown, that I totally forgot to take screens.....
Since we didn't feel like chasing a breakaway today, we sent (again) Gregory Bernard in it, as he had a good day. So the other teams mostly Sky and Lotto) had to work hard to catch this 8-man breakaway (including very known riders as Johan Verhelst, Robin Keister, and Jurgen van Goolen...).
An with 3km to go, they where caught, somewhere on the road between Rhenen and Veenendaal. At that moment, our train was already on the rails, with Rosseler-Maaskant-Ligthart-Bos, followed by Mulder (with the goal of getting a good position, not being the final sprinter). But when the BOTD got caught, we were extremely lucky to be on the good side of the road, as we could pass them easily, while the trains of Sky (Appollonio) and Lotto (Goddaert) got blocked. Especially Appollonio can be pissed about it, because hours after the race, he was still being blocked by some riders.
Given this great opportunity, Theo Bos kicked off with a little less than 2km to go, and took the win with a great, great margin. Goddaert was probably the fastest today, making up more than 10-15 places in the last kilometre, finishing in 2nd. And young Jens Mulder rode the best result in his short career, taking the 3rd place in this weird sprint!
Result
1 | Theo Bos | Monster Energy - Subway | 4h08'22 | 2 | Kristof Goddaert | Lotto - Belisol | s.t. | 3 | Jens Mulder | Monster Energy - Subway | s.t. | 4 | Francesco Chicchi | Team Eddy Merckx - Indeland | s.t. | 5 | Vicente Reynès | Lotto - Belisol | s.t. | 6 | Wim Stroetinga | M&M's | s.t. | 7 | Pim Ligthart | Monster Energy - Subway | s.t. | 8 | Liam Holohan | Sky ProCycling | s.t. | 9 | Shawn Milne | Garmin - Barracuda | s.t. | 10 | Marco Marcato | Vacansoleil - DCM Pro Cycling Team | s.t. |
The winner
Word from the DS
Finally the win in the DUtch Food Valley Classic! And for Bos, who has signed a contract with Euskaltel (think I'm going to edit this ), it was the first of the season. Hopefully, this is aso the start of a great sprinting career for Mulder. Still: strange, strange sprint, but this time we were lucky.

Be patient. Have to play the Vattenfall Cyclassics and make the report of it, then I will start with the Vuelta preview. Figured out this would be better to do so, after I posted the "Stay tuned" reply. Oh well....
