Well, you can't win every time, and it's no shame losing this way |

New signings
Team Monster Energy - Subway is proud to present 3 very talented youngsters. All 3 will start the last months of 2013 as a stagiaire, and with good results and developing, they will be given a contract at the team.
The first one is Justin Audet, a 19-year-old Canadian cyclist, who's current specialism is being a puncheur. But we see a great future for him as a cobbled rider.
Jacob Babbel is the first of the 2 Austrian youngsters. His aim will be the hilly races, and the smaller stage races with a prologue or short TT in it, as well as a hilly stage (eg Ronde van België, Tour of Luxembourg).
20-year-old Patrick Reiter can develop in a future world class sprinter. He needs to improve a lot, but we have faith in him! He will make his professional debut in the Tour of Pologne.

Thx. I signed no big names for 2014, as the team is strong enough already (even with Andy Schleck leaving). I'm looking for young takents to develop them.

July summary
What to say about July 2013? It will always be remembered as the month where Monster Energy - Subway won it's first Tour de France, thanks to an incredible Andy Schleck. But other riders also gave us great wins: Thomas De Gendt (stage & GC in both Österreich Rundfahrt and Tour de Wallonie), Peter Sagan (Pueba Villafranca) and Marcel Kittel (Sparkassen Giro). In total 7 this month!
Media awards
Winning Le Tour was enough for Andy Schleck for becoming the rider of the month. Young Sobota won a stage in the Brixia Tour.
Rankings
World Tour riders
Igor Antón stays in the lead, while Andy Schleck has jumped from 9th to 2nd. Robert Gesink is still in 3rd.
World Tour teams
Monster Energy - Subway has built up a great lead, with Katusha in 2nd and Lotto - Blisol, thanks to EB Hagen and Gilbert, in 3rd.
Continental Tour riders
Stijn Devolder stays in the lead of the CT rankings, but feels the Italian breath of Enrico Rossi, who won the Tour of Qinghai Lake and the Trofeo Matteoti, in his neck. 3rd is Cayetano Sarmiento.
Continental Tour teams
The top 3 (Vacansoleil-Saur-Europcar) has stayed the same, but Vacansoleil has increased the margin to 2nd place to almost 250 points.
CQ riders
Without good results in July, Igor Antón had a lead that was big enough to still be in 1st place. Behind him follow 3 Monster Energy-riders.
CQ teams
With the riders in place 2-3-4-6, no wonder that Monster Energy - Subway leads the CQ teams ranking. Lotto has jumped over Katusha and is in 2nd.
Wins riders
Leading the World Tour and CQ-rankings, Igor Antón also has th emost wins (11), followed by Robert Gesink (9) and Fabian Cancellara & Edvald Boasson Hagen (both 8).
Wins teams
43 wins, and still 3 months to go.... An incredible season for Monster Energy - Subway. Lotto - Belisol is in 2nd with 22 wins, and Saxo Bank with 18, 1 more than Conti-team Vacansoleil.
What a .......... month

August preview
August is stacked with races, a ot of them World Tour. First the Tour of Pologne and the Eneco Tour are goals to get in the top 3, just as in the Vattenfall Cyclassics and GP Ouest France - Plouay. The main goal of course is the Vuelta a España.
Our goals
- GC-win in the Vuelta
- Top 3 in Pologne or Eneco
- Win one of the 6 classics we participate in.

A proper compensation would be a Monster girl. Times three!

I think people are more interested in the Monster Girls than the actual story.
It was indeed a Monster July. Now, for a Monster August. |
