Nordic Cycling | Final Farewell
Atlantius
VoetsT: He deserves to end his career on a high note!

Shonak: Thanks. The race has first edition this yaer to mark the end of Hushovd's career. Guess he knows the route betetr than teh others with that effort on stage 2 Wink

The Rider: Haha, you and your Greenlandics Wink
We consider all the small teams our CT-teams. After all several of them only established after we became succesful and are focus on "our" countries...

Autumn Tour of Norway

Stage 3: Kristiansand (ITT)

There’s not really much more to say than that this is 16 km of TT’ing and we have brought three potential World Champions, but Phinney, Malori and Fuchs are all here as well.

Quaade is having a bad day and finishes 4 seconds slower than Phinney

Alex enjoys his perhaps last race in the rainbow and comes 2 seconds short of the Americans time.

Good thing we can always count on Edvald!
Thor finishes 20th defending his GC lead

The toughest finish of the race. We will do our best to protect Hushovd.

i1316.photobucket.com/albums/t605/Atlantius_PCM/2016%20Novo-SAS/09-11-Norway-4-2_zps7ad5a7c0.jpg
The boys do a good job making sure no break gets as much advantage as the one Thor was in.
i1316.photobucket.com/albums/t605/Atlantius_PCM/2016%20Novo-SAS/09-11-Norway-4-3_zps143dc2ac.jpg
Kennaugh attacks as soon as the climb begins. Chris and Edvald goes after him while the rest stay behind to work for Thor.
i1316.photobucket.com/albums/t605/Atlantius_PCM/2016%20Novo-SAS/09-11-Norway-4-4_zps764ffced.jpg
When Clarke decides to join the attacking all my boys are called back to reel him in as the Australian is only 13 second back in the GC.
i1316.photobucket.com/albums/t605/Atlantius_PCM/2016%20Novo-SAS/09-11-Norway-4-5_zps44d5af6e.jpg
Going into the final 5 km we have everything under control thanks to great effort from Chris, Matti and Edvald.
i1316.photobucket.com/albums/t605/Atlantius_PCM/2016%20Novo-SAS/09-11-Norway-4-6_zpse3ec8dcb.jpg
Rutkiewicz almost makes a break last, but going into the final km he sees the World champion leading out the biggest legend of Norwegian cycling.

A flat stage to finish off. Part of me hopes that someone else will decide to mix in towards the finish today…

i1316.photobucket.com/albums/t605/Atlantius_PCM/2016%20Novo-SAS/09-11-Norway-5-2_zps87576a1a.jpg
15 km from the line a huge crash splits the peloton in two. We are safe in front chasing the last remains of todays break.
i1316.photobucket.com/albums/t605/Atlantius_PCM/2016%20Novo-SAS/09-11-Norway-5-3_zpsa6472a89.jpg
We completely mistime the chase though and the break gets the win.

VoetsT: Yeah, had expected a bit more competition from the other teams with teams like Saxo, Astana and Statoil all here...

sutty: We could almost call it the "Ausumn Tour of Norway" Wink

Shonak: Only the best is good enough when preparing for the Worlds...

welker: I think you're right Wink

Based on recent results we consider Taylor Phinney the biggest challenger for the World Championships as neither Martin, Castroviejo, Fuchs or any other top TT'er have done anything worth mentioning lately.
We expect that it will be crucial that the riders make sure to save energy for the last part as that is by far the hardest.

The defending World Champion is being sent of as one of the first today.
He sets best time in 1h13’24’’

The Dane is having a terrible day as Wilman finishes less than a second slower and Vaugrenard is 13 seconds faster than the defending champion.

Cameron Meyer destroys everyone in the intermediates, but in goal he is only 20 seconds faster than current 2nd place Wyss.

Phinney is looking to get away from the continental division and a rainbow jersey would certainly help him there.

He is 25 seconds faster than Meyer in goal.

Ludvigsson carries the hope of the Swedish today, but it will take more than a miracle if he is to get a medal today.
i1316.photobucket.com/albums/t605/Atlantius_PCM/2016%20Novo-SAS/09-19-WC-TT-5_zps32336a66.jpg
At the first intermediate Quaade is 15 seconds slower than Meyer while Edvald is down by almost a minute on the first part.

Tony Martin is in nothing resembling form the slightest.

With everyone through the first checkpoints the top riders are:

2Rasmus QuaadeDenmark+ 15
3Taylor PhinneyUSA+ 24
4Frantisek RabonCzech Republic+ 24
5Marcel WyssSwitzerland+ 45

This is where Quaade could come into trouble: The hills. Still 2nd best 32 seconds down at the 2nd intermediate though, but Phinney proved that a lot can be won or lost in the final 16 km.

Edvald comes into the game by setting 4th best time

With everyone through the 2nd checkpoint it’s:
1Cameron MeyerAustralia47’09
2Rasmus QuaadeDenmark+ 32
3Taylor PhinneyUSA+ 50
4Edvald Boasson HagenNorway+ 52
5Marcel WyssSwitzerland+ 1’24
38Tobias LudvigssonSweden+ 2’21

i1316.photobucket.com/albums/t605/Atlantius_PCM/2016%20Novo-SAS/09-19-WC-TT-8_zps90003af9.jpg
New best time in goal for Rasmnus Quaade!
24 seconds faster than Phinney!
i1316.photobucket.com/albums/t605/Atlantius_PCM/2016%20Novo-SAS/09-19-WC-TT-9_zps130e1435.jpg
Malori finishes as fastest Italian, which is just slow enough to see Boasson Hagen beat Quaade’s time by 20 seconds.

Looks like two Nordic medals with only five riders left on the route.

Again a WC ITT in your team, congratulation Grin

Atlantius
VoetsT: Thanks. It helps that Tony Martin wasn't in the slightest form, byt at least Edvald proved in the Tour that he is able to beat Martin in a more regular match as well Wink

Yay, Gold and Silver, great rides Banana

Atlantius
Matthew21rp: That's the one Cool

sutty: Very rewarding to see Quaade take silver considering that I didn't manage him in the race as I'm coaching Norway this year. Always nice that the custom training schedule pays off...

Nordic Cycling on top once more and that's although Rasmussen didn't deliver. Edvald shows that winning the Tour TT didn't come from nowhere. What a brilliant day for him. Can I bet my money on him becoming double world champion? Grin

Shonak: Not sure if there's any bookmakres taking bets on PCM-stories, but maybe someone will take your bet that EBH gets double world champion in 2016 Wink

krisa: What can I say - he's starting to get old. Cancellara is no longer the TT beast he used to be. There's probably around 15 riders better than him on paper...

Awesome result, congrats!

how can I get these frameworks you are using in your presentations?

Atlantius
SilasColdfire: Thanks. If it's the squares like on this post you mean it's just pressing "quote" in the menu below.
Another tip I used a lot in the beginning when wanting to see how things are done is pressing "quote" as that allows you to see the code behind the post you quote Wink

Great result from Boasson Hagen! Unfortunately Quaade didn't win. He has a lot of potention irl but it seems that nobody sees it. And Dumoulin best Dutchman on P34? What went wrong in the Netherlands? Shock
