I don't know where you read ALL radio contact will be banned, cos I read it as all TWO WAY radio contact will be banned. So either they'll still get orders from the team cars, or still be able to tell their cars they've got a mechanical.

It's to be as the Tour stages this year: they can all only receive, not transmit. So they have the race radio telling them all they need to know about dangerous places, etc, they just can't talk to each other to order tactics.

Isn't La Vuelta moving back to the spring by this point?

That isn't sure, and I don't think it'd be a good move. I'd rather say that it'll be moved a week back, as ruben said.

UCI just made a huge decision which will undoubtedly lead to massive protests: All radio contact will be banned.

There's no plan yet for when this will happen - they'll soon present one, though.

That's a great new Smile

I hope that the UCI won't stop this measure because of the future protests.

I don't know if it has been mentioned, but:
According to cyclingweekly: "sources close to ASO" says that there is going to be a mountain time trial up Tourmalet in next years Tour, it also says that it is going to be the day after the Luchon-Aubisque stage...

Yup, the guy who "broke" this a few days ago is the same guy who originally posted details of the route.

meh, i don't think that many people care any more, the stupid date change clashing with the Giro as well as Cataluyna. The race has effectively killed itself.

Well I had no idea (or at least I'd forgotten) they changed the date, that's how much I cared beforehand (no offence ToC) Wink

That's....interesting.

Let's see how it works out. Definitely a lot of competition will be skewed away from smaller races like the Settimana Ciclistica and even big races like the Criterium International.

And here's the continental calendar

https://www.uci.ch...p;LangId=1

The Volta a Portugal got their wish of being downgraded a level so that more teams can participate, but the Tour of Britain was denied the same request.

The Subida Urkiola was moved back a week.

That's about it. Very few changes this year.

Martinelli's the new boss of Astana. He's not very effective at covering up doping.

I'm crossing fingers that Contador is stuck riding there. It's the best chance that he finally gets caught.

It's the best chance of them losing their pro tour status and Contador leaving

Contador will leave..
Now the teams just waiting..maybe they will get him a lot cheaper. After Astana have lost pro tour license

Something very fishy is going on at Vacansoleil.

Yesterday, team doctor Peter Jansen resigned, saying there was a lot of mismanagement in the team and that he couldn't agree with the teams policy and quitted.

Now the Dutch paper De Telegraaf managed to get hold off an e-mail from Vacansoleil manager Daan Luijckx to all staff and riders telling them that they should not say anything about this case against the media.

What happened there? Was the doping so hard that even Peter Jansen thought it was not medically safe anymore? This puts their whole Vuelta results in a different perspective for me Sad

Sad. But this case 'stinks'

An apology please then. After slagging me off for saying I was doubting Hoogerlands performance and you leapt down my throat.

An apology is not in order. as there is still no proof for Hoogerland doping.

Thus. I was right to slap down your throat.

You dont need there to be proof in order to express suspicions.

And suspicions always arise when riders are suddenly doing very well, with climbing in particularly - especially when on the team are the likes of Leukemans and for a period Lhotellerie.
