In the grand scheme of things... this is very good for astana. They win the stage, don't have to defend the leaders jersey, and lance will still be the center of press attention sitting in second with the same time as the leader.
BUT... Lance really wanted this. I really think he knows he's not going to be able to hang with the top climbers (maybe be in the second group)... so this was his shot to get yellow.
If in fact he is capable of climbing with the leaders... this would be good for him. But not if he's not at that level... as I suspect. |

Four of top five in overall standings are now Astana. Three Garmin riders in top 10. Evans, Sastre, Menchov basically done now. |

That's what I think - he'll never get it in the mountains |

ha, Lance was the 5th rider and probably could have pushed it and finished quick enough to get yellow

It wasn't?
Now - how good was Armstrong on the 1st stage?
What rider jumped on the road to catch the break yesterday?
So just because he jumped and got to the right break it's deserved? the hell with saxo bank! Lance deserved it.
Lance did worse than Cancellara in the opening TT, and would be in yellow "just because he got to the right break" please explain to me intelligently (i know that may be asking too much from you) how Lance deserved it more
Exactly, especially when Fabian was in the same brake...
Cancellara has the jersey because he has an induvidual stage win |

Actually Evans, Sastre, and Menchov being way back could make the race a lot more interesting, as they'd have no reason to hold back in the mountains |

I'm a bit worried that the 'excitement' of the Tour is pretty much dead from now. Menchov, Evans and Sastre have already lost a fair bit of time, and A. Schleck is also behind Contador.
Hopefully, he'll show some weakness in the third week. |

No - seriously. It was as expected for Astana, a good ride. They have put serious time into some of their rivals. In particular Evans (I am not sure whether Menchov is in shape tbh) and also a fair amount of time on Sastre.
Armstrong has the chance on Thursday or Friday to get yellow in perhaps a more glorious way.
Garmin - what a great ride from those 5 riders very unlucky that they came up against a super TT team. For me they had the ride of the day.
Saxo Bank will be happy, as will Liquigas they have placed their young guns Kreuzinger and A.Schleck in a good position. Also Cancellara keeps Yellow.
I think Cervelo will be disappointed, but the Rabo's and Lotto team are going to be devestated. Both teams are going to have to go for long range attacks in the mountains now.

sigh...
That ASO don't decide on the position, it goes to hundreds of a seconds, countback etc.
There's no "Damn he didn't deserve it". Fact is, Cancellara deserves it.

But why are the other GC riders making it so easy for Astana? hahah Only Vande Velde who is a bit close... 1:16 behind hahah. And Andy 1:41

I think that the TTT decided everything in this Tour...From now on the Tour will be boring we know the winner already and that is so stupid the Tour ended on TTT... not on mountains |

Cancellara has an individual stage win... Armstrong doesn't, thats how it is,
Only whole seconds count and it always has...
