well..why everything in cycling should go with Lance rules. If someone else has told doper hunter ..basicaly: go and fuck yourself..you can imagine reaction.
I don't belive that Horillo crash was Giro fault..
Lance spoiled great Milano stage..and he's big gesture .."We will ride but wont be happy"..was not doing any good eather. Damn ...dont race then! Why to you need a play a fool and get so many angry fans..If you looked that stage ..you had seen numb spectators. And this stage should been great one..like Monaco in F1.
Ofcorse I dont like to see someone get hurt..not in Nascar, NHL or cycling. But what we should do..keep them inside on exercise device?

10:41wicker79:newsflash!!!!!!!!........all future giro stages will be on stationary trainers for safety reasons and who pedals the longest wins

10:42wicker79:another newsflash!!!!!!!.........riders protest the stationary trainers and have decided to settle the race by playing Pro cycling manager.

Not arguing, but just questioning, how does Lance Armstrong make a "mockery of the sport?"

1. He floats back claiming to post up to date testing on himself by top dawg tester Dan Caitlin. Lasts all of 1 set of data, that was changed at a later date. No one seems to bat an eyelid.
2. Is using cycling to further his political career.
3. "Events" occur at extremely fortunate timings that make other "events" look like the entire cycling scene is like wrestling - pre planned shit drama.
4. He believes that he'll actually win anything.
5. He looks like a complete and utter plonker on that "bling" bike of his, that only an american would think was in any way, shape, or form, cool.
6. He has the style of a category 4 rider who keeps getting the chain ring marks on the inside of his leg from pressing against the chain.
7. Believes he has the right to dictate what the peloton should do.
8. Has ego problems.
9. Is American.
10. Is no longer a young rider with the skills to ride fearlessly in a peloton.
11. "Inspires" (with popeyes spinach I feel) his riders to suddenly go from nothing to good again. (Popo crap last year, suddenly revitalised. Horner as old as they come, suddenly flying).

I can't think of anything else that annoys me right now, but I'll get back to you when it does.

Why do you watch cycling if they dont race like you want to?
Maybe the Horillo crash wasnt Giros fault but when a crash like that happen the giro have to take the consequences.
Okay some riders didnt agree with Armstrong(if he was the man behind). But some big names did agree like Hunter,Rogers,Di Luca + others.

Worst post ever on pcmdaily? Probably not since there been lots of bad posts but it is a contender.

Lance broke the rules taking the shower.
Horillos crash had nothng to do with dangerous roads anything like that. it was just a traic accident.
The protest didnt have anything to do with the crash but that Lance felt a circuit that been ridden a lot of times before wasnt safe. Clearly most other riders and mostly everyone else in the world of cycling disagree with Lance.
If there had been any crashes during the stage it wouldnt have had anything to do with the course. Accidents can always happen but noone have complained for years riding that course and clearly the general concensus of the riders is that Lance doesnt know what he is talking about claiming that the stage was dangerous.
Why do you think people want to see crashes? They wanted to see a good race and Lance took it away from them. Of course people will be disappointed. Just cause you dont appreciate a sprint stage doesnt mean a lot of others do.

Lance keep on showing that he isnt a good person. Being a bad person not bothering anyone is one thing but when it ruins for everyone else then of course it will make that person impopular. This time he went so far as to ruin cyclings reputation in Italy. The city of Milano closes off parts of the city for cycling. New spectators in the streets that usually dont watch cycling will have no interest in trying to watch it again.

It feels like cause Lance isnt doing so well riding he had to get some notice in other ways. Show his power over the rest of the riders.

Dan_Grr
Reason for the protest: Lance wanted to rest yesterday.

I'm sure other riders didn't complain about the easy ride, they'll get their 15000 euros at the end of the month either way.

I don't want to be one of those homer-arguing forum members because I do have significant problems with Lance, but I do think he's done a lot for the sport in terms of creating more buzz about the sport. And that's true in many countries.

chrica04
Again, a bunch of you reach out at Lance Armstrong for nothing. He wasn't the only one to want a neutralization yesterday....Di Luca, Rogers, Hunter all did the same thing.
The Giro organizers have done a piss poor job with the route, cars and pedestrians on course? Come on.
Why are you knocking on Lance for trying to increase support and awareness for cancer. If that is a bad thing, then I guess you have your own morals and ideas.
Every rider that has had success in the pro peleton has a huge ego...not just Lance.
And because he is American...he is a mockery of the sport. I am American, does that mean I have no right to race my bike? I don't see the relevance of that at all. Thanks for the stereotype!

Oh certainly, I do not deny that. But I'm not happy with people having the wool pulled over their eyes, and I just get this feeling that he is doing just that. Riding off his previous fame.

Glad to have stirred up so much trouble, that is probably the best response to my post.

well I give for you Biathlon race..where we just move together and dont shoot..because that Lahti stadion descent sharp turn is a little to dagerous. But dont be worried..we will be there and you can wave for us..
Is this fun?
Was there any reason to wach Milano stage? Is this Cavendish win like great sprint stage win?

And who's to say I'm not annoyed at them either? Di Luca - I like his style, but thats just about the only thing I like about Mr get-off-doping-charges-easily. Rogers - Should know better than to neutralise and entire race. But again, we know why, he's scared of crashing due to the TdF crash. Hunter - well, he was never going to win was he? So it was a lose-lose situation for him.

The Giro organizers have done a piss poor job with the route, cars and pedestrians on course? Come on.

How is it a piss poor job? If the riders decided to race slow on a dry, flat course around Milan, why didn't they decide to race slow on the wet descents the past few days? Safety is in the hands of the riders as well as organisers.

Why are you knocking on Lance for trying to increase support and awareness for cancer. If that is a bad thing, then I guess you have your own morals and ideas.

I'm not knocking on him for increasing support for cancer (awareness I think is pretty much high enough without claiming he's made people more aware). Kudos to anyone supporting any charity. I wasn't talking however about him supporting cancer charities. I was talking about him wanting to increase his political potential. All the interviews that he never used to do. All the lies about being open to make the public like him more. All the spinning of truths. All the "jumping in to save the day". All the drama.

Every rider that has had success in the pro peleton has a huge ego...not just Lance.

Wait, I thought Edvald Boasson Hagen didn't? I thought he was meant to be modest and shy?

And because he is American...he is a mockery of the sport. I am American, does that mean I have no right to race my bike? I don't see the relevance of that at all. Thanks for the stereotype!

Not a mockery of the sport. A mockery of the world.

Yes, you have a right to race your bike, just no need to tell the entire world about it.

Stereotypes? Hell, I'm made of them. Plenty more I can spit, brother.

We're being too harsh on Lance. He should give his bling bike to Horner though, the old man is ruling. He doesn't seem to talk much. That's good.
