Giro of Italy 2007
Smoothie
Yes it was an amazing stage definatly well deserved.

SportingNonsense
Its a shame that Schleck fell foul to the Italian teams making sure an Italian rider won

CrueTrue
Impressive by Schleck - yet again

mazzoleni is doped so he doesn't deserve to win the giro

I am acutually surpirsed with how Schleck performed, he has been going so well and every day he seems to pull out the ride of his life. Amazing

Litlle: Mazzo didn't win the Giro

I'm reminded of the words of Frank Schleck when he won the Amstel last year:

"I took up cycling to show my little brother and my father I could be better than them. I failed miserably."

i know but issoiso said that if mazzoleni wouldn't have lost 2 minutes on the zoncolan and the other stage too he would have won the giro

After today I got it how important Zoncolan stage was,why Di Luca did 110% ride..that was Schleck ,Cunego, Mazoleni TT skill threat. And Piti that Savoldelli had health problems middle of the tour (I have to admit that I predicted him to be a GC winner).

Smoothie
Do you think that was had seemed a bad tour for Savoldelli has turned out to be a good one?

SportingNonsense
Not really, he started it hoping to win and is down in 12th - over 13 minutes down.

I thought at the end of the day the GC result was pretty diassapionting too. However still nice to get a win.

But he is a fine man..after he noticed that this is not my Giro..he give best help to Mazzoleni what he was capable...no "Ricco" talks I am the team captain and thats it.

Savoldelli can win if the biggest candidates falter, AND his hay fever doesn't strike AND there are two long individual time trials

this happened twice already, so...it might just happen again.

Savo definitely makes the Giro more interesting by bringing another dimension to it. Someone who must defend in the mountains and gain time in the TTs.
At the giro, the other candidates are generally climbers.

I think watching Savoldellies decending is amazing, its a wonder how he does it so great and without hesitation!

As a part-time racecar driver myself, I've always been amazed at how little riders follow basic lines. it's just like driving a car around a track.

He, on the other hand, follows the right line, but not only that. Under braking he lets the rear wheel slide a bit on the slower corners, you might notice.
It's risky, but he pulls it off handsomely

that I've seen, I think only Landis comes close to his descending skills.

For me Giro is always climbers tour. If you want win TdF you should be good TT rider and climber.
