Question for RJC! - Your club the Velo Club Montpellier.. are they going to put the Leisure Lakes Series on again next season? If so I think I'm gonna enter all of the rounds, as I will need some midweek events throughout the season. |

It'll just be standard Shimano Ultegra. Nothing flashy or too expensive, unfortunately I have to buy everything myself, so I do have a rather strict, and low, budget Hence why I have to wait till around Christmas before buying the last few things...
Get Rival, its cheaper, and I love mine.
Second That. I got the new Rival grouppo with a Red Crankset and I love it all. Getting used to the different shifting is a null point and I actually like being able to pull the shift levers back to the bars for a sprint and such.
Third that( ). Got a force group on y Canyon, and SRAM has done a good job with it. The doubletap technology is really nice, and is worth trying. It's easy toget used to too.

OK. So the team I am riding for next season is sponsored by a company based out of Hong Kong, called LUMA. Either I will get a BMC Racemaster, or I will get the LUMA RC6 frame. I've heard good things about the RC6, and It'd be nice to be riding the team bike. It looks pretty sweet too.

The bike company is based out of Hong Kong, Don't worry, I'm still a 3. The team is the regional Colavita team.

Found some good pictures from my last race of the season.
https://hcphoto.smugmug.com/DBC-My-Hom...roL/Medium
In that first picture the guy in white attacked on the hill leading up to the hairpin which was about 300 meters from the finish. In the chase group I started 5th wheel, behind the guy who is on the far right, he jumped on my wheel and got 3rd. Keep hitting next and you can see it was pretty close, considering were I started and how much of a gap Sam(black and white guy) had.
It was a fun race.
I'm green with the black shorts and white helmet BTW.

I went for a normal Sunday training ride today, but ended up being hit from behind by a car doing 40+ mph. My head wouldn't exist if it wasn't for my helmet, and as it is I have a massive bump, plus a lot of road rash. My bike is a write off, as is the guy's window screen which my head hit. I blacked out just before impact (thank you VERY much brain), so can't remember the hit, and must have been outta it for 3+ minutes. A ride in an ambulance, and 6 hours of lying in a hospital, and I've been allowed to come home. I have a headache, unsurprisingly, along with various hurting bits and bobs.
Lesson? Wear a helmet. Always. Always. Always.

glad you are ok. Road rash and a bump is better than broken bones or worse.

Yeah, sorta lucky to be at home that fast.
When seeing people ride without a helmet, it always makes me wonder if they know what they're doing. |

Some other guy out on the ride, took some photos as evidence. Here are some:
The other guy's bike.

The windscreen that my head hit, and cracked.

Some of the skid mark that apparantly extended for over 40ft.

My bike.

The scene.

Well no wonder you got hit, you were on the wrong side of the road! In all seriousness though, glad you're okay and bummer about your bike, was it claimed on your Homeowners Insurance (or your parent's?)

To quote a guy who was with me... this is something I didn't know...
"your right arm was trapped under the passenger side rear wheel and they couldn't reverse the car because your face was pressed against the rear wheel so they all manned up and lifted the car off you"
That explains my shoulders feeling of having been dislocated/fucked. I shall be claiming off the guy who took me out thank you very much! For all I can do. Hopefully a new bike.

wow, glad you're OK there, thats a nasty accident.
(But it also does show how unrespectful motorists are here in the UK when sharing the road with cyclists)
