I know, but think, the reason the Tour the Sochi is not mentioned anywhere on the Pro Tour website is because the date is still to be confirmed.
Isn't that logical? Seems logical to me. |

The date was mentioned in several articles a few days ago: 14th-20th September. |

Estonian most hopful talent..will quit after this season. Tanel Kangert told on he's blog that ..he's permanent knee joint problems has stopped completly he's training.
And wont be able to race or train this year at all. And probably wont get any contract for next year. He is also thankful to Ag2r to taken him has nobody into pro team when he was 19.
He will take few year break to study. |

Schumacher ready to ride
Stefan Schumacher has applied for his 2009 license and expects to receive it momentarily, so that he can ride for Team Quick-Step this season.
"We have applied for the license" from the Bund Deutscher Radfahrer, the German federation, his attorney Michael Lehner told the sid news agency, "and assume that they will issue it."
The former Gerolsteiner rider tested positive for the new performance-enhancing drug CERA during the Tour de France, but has consistently denied having used the illegal susbstance. The German federation has not opened a case against Schumacher, although the French Anti-Doping Agency has. Lehner indicated that he thought the French investigation would be closed.
Before the positive tests were announced, Schumacher had signed a contract with the Belgian team Quick Step for 2009. Team manager Patrick Lefevere called the contract "void", but Schumacher and Lehner have continued to insist otherwise.
"Of course there are uncertainties, but the contract with Quick Step is valid," Lehner said.

The Telegraaf states that a group of supporters is trying to make cyclo-cross an olympic sport. The italian federation as well as the UCI are working with the IOC to implement this idea
https://www.cyclingnews.com/news.php?i.../jan23news
the weird thing is their tryng to start it as a demonstration sport in the Winter Olympics! Wouldnt it be better fitted in the Summer Olympics along with the other cycling disciplines??

Cyclo-cross = winter sport. I don't see why it wouldn't fit into the Olympic calendar, as a sort of final showdown for glory for the top riders in mid-February, two or three weeks after the World's... |

yea and by the summer most of cyclo-crossers are completly out of shape with the exception of some riders (Boom ) who also race on the road
and what do you think deserves to be a olympix sport ? cyclocross or bmx
if bmx is a olympic sport then so must cyclocross be

I agree with its introduction in the Olympics too. I just don't see it like a regular winter sport... I know its calendar is in the winter and it is carried on through mud and difficult climate conditions but the scenery where it takes place doesn't have that white background of snow or ice like skiying or ice skating have.
But I'm portuguese which means I'm not much into cyclo-cross even though I admire it, so nevermind....
...and in second thought as the summer olympics are so saturated it probably wouldnt be a good idea adding another event to them...

Every single race outside the Benelux and the Mediterranean countries (= Spain, France and Italy) takes place in icy or snowy circuits. The entire Czech calendar is full of snow, and same counts for Germany, East Europe, some American races and even some of the Benelux ones. I don't think it's funny. |
