Got it from an article on a 37 year old removal man from New York whose hobby is collecting dictionaries. His book, which goes under the catchy title of "Reading the Oxford English Dictionary: One Man, One Year, 21,730 Pages", is a digest of all the interesting words he found which are not in everyday use.
Mr Shea, who evidently doesn't get much work shifting sideboards and pianos, sat down to read all 20 volumes of the OED in the basement of his local library. He was there 10 hours a day for the whole of the year, and he admits that he sometimes felt he was in the process of losing his marbles.
So, continuing on that wave, this situation seems like a bit of a "kankedort" |

Cyclismag hasn't any wattage calculations for 1991 and 1992 (to my knowledge anyway ), but I agree with isso. 1991 was the year EPO was introduced among the toplevel GT'ers. And at about 1993 you simply had to use it, to be up there. Main excample for me is Lemond, suddenly ending 7th in 1991, while allegedly in the form of his life. And in my view, Lemond have been one the most talented riders ever. Maybe the highest VO2max ever recorded. Only norwegian cross country skier Bjørn Dælhie is said to have been is equal VO2 wise. We don't know the VO2 max of Eddy Merckx and older riders, and of course a high VO2 max doesn't necessarily mean you have the highest lactate treshold, only potentially and with the right training.
On another subject, I found this piece Christian Vande Velde. It's a nice story and puts things into perspective. He's a good guy I believe!

It's there. Aquarius posted it in some thread where people were discussing the greatest climber ever. It was an extremely large article.
I can assure you it's there.

Nope, his press conference is still today, but he decided to start talking yesterday |

yeah yeah, you're probably right.
One thing is sure though, in 1991 Alpe d'Huez was climbed in less than 40 minutes for the first time ever. Bugno, Indurain and Leblanc did just a little slower than Sastre this year (15secs), but still 3 miutes slower than Pantani in 1995 |

https://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/spor...364306.ece I couldn't find 1991 and 1992 calculations either, this could mean that the performances those years were not above 390 W, but that surprises me, since the boost in performances started at that time. Most likely there have been no calculations. |

I don't have the patience to go through Aquarius' 829 posts looking for it, but I guarantee it's there. The article made a great number of interesting points on riders. Including Armstrong |

I'm pretty sure it was one about "best climber". I'll look for it later tonight or tomorrow morning, if I can remember to |

You don't need to bother We know from cyclismag that Indurain, Bugno and LeBlanc climbed Alpe d'Huez in 39'45 min. in 1991, so the relative power are definitely close to 430 watts. |

It's not going well for cycling in Germany at the moment. Latest news is that ARD has decided not to transmit from Tour de France anymore. ZDF is still considering what to do, but it's likely that they'll also stop showing it. |

Kohl wants to tell everything, he will tell how he got and who gave it to him. He has also said that he hasn't been doping before now.
