but from what i've read his stats werent that impressive, and yes I understand they traded down once Ryan was gone but afaik there wasnt any team before them interested in a QB, perhaps Tampa Bay but apart from them I think they could have stayed at the spot where they were after they traded down

All it takes is one team to take him.

wow on nfl.com they are already comparing Andre Woodson to Tom brady, Woodson sure is talented, a few months ago he was a first round pick but then he suddenly went down the draft boards
This is what the seahawks did
Round 1 - Lawrence Jackson (DE) - I was hoping they would pick a DT or a RB, perhaps even a WR since all the WR's were still available but I guess they think Jackson has 'it'.
Round 2 - John Carlson (TE) - Fred Davis was still on the board but apparently they thought Carlson, who had a mediocre combine and pro day, will become a better TE than Davis.
Round 4 - Red Bryant (DT) - First pick that I like, Bryant was a 2nd/3rd round pick and so its great to get a guy like that in the 4th round, I expect Bryant to start from day 1.
Round 5 - Owen Schmitt (FB) - Instead of getting a RB here they decided to get someone to help out Julius Jones in the backfield, Schmitt sure is a good FB but is he the missing piece of the puzzle?
Round 5 - Tyler Schmitt (LS) - Who? I dont get it why they take a longsnapper instead of a WR or a RB here, apparently they think they wont be needing any help at WR...
Round 7 - Justin Forsett (RB) - Finally a runningback, Forsett is a small guy but he could become the next Warrick Dunn who was also very small for a RB. However since he's picked in round 7 I dont expect much but I dont think he could be any worse than Jones and Duckett.
Round 7 - Brandon Coutu (K) - Olindo Mare sucks, last year Folk and Crosby had fantastic rookie years and I hope Coutu can have a great season aswell
(I may give some draft grades to teams later on if ppl are interested)

All im going to say is come on the Packers haha. Like what they have done in the draft as the team is still very young and should have a decent chance of getting a similar record this year. We have old CB's but i think we will draft a better one next year but i think rodgers will be awesoem this year and suprise a few people. People said he didnt play long in the cowboys game but he brought the packers back into the game and only just lost. Especially with a new tight end he will have more options than favre and jennings will hopefulyl be fit all year so even more production. Hoping for another successful year!! |

I only think that Rodgers wont be too happy that they drafted Brohm (draft grades will come just havent had the time!)

As someone who pays more attention to college football I'll tell you a few things about the guys you drafted.
Owen Schmidt - An absolute STEAL. Think of Mike Allstott... only a better blocker. This kid is a perennial pro-bowl FB waiting to happen.
John Carlson - Average NFL TE at best. Davis would have been a far superior pick.
Brandon Coutu - Okay... I'm a UGA fan so I'm biased... but you got your kicker for the next 15 years. He's hit a lot of long kicks, including a 58 yarder. His leg is much bigger than that though. During warmups of games he usually nails 5-10 kicks from 65 yards out. His leg is THAT good. He's by far the best kicker in this past draft.
As for WR's... the whole group sucked this year. It's not necessarily a bad move to hold off a year and try to sign a couple journeymen free agents. That's possibly the best you could get after the second round this year anyway. |

NFL tickets for the Wembley match have become available now. It's not exactly cheap, though, so I guess I will have to pass for now. I choose the PS3 over NFL |

Yeah I saw. Good news, but it is weird that about 3/4 months ago he announced his retirement, and now he is back...

I think he should have retired for good, now he will likely end his career outside of Green Bay and that just doesnt seem right...

Well he has been re-instated onto the roster at Green Bay for the time being. But yes, he should've just stayed retired, he is getting old now and will never have another season like he did last year. It would've been best if he had just gone out on a high...
Also Green Bay running back Ryan Grant recently signed a new deal.

On the other hand, I like the way that they handle come backs in NFL. If you retire and come back, you're not able to sign with another team than the one you retired from unless they accept it. In football? Retire, come back later, and you're a free bird.
Anyway, Favre, grand old man, you should retire That said, I think he can have a decent season. |

overrated. I agree with addy. Do you know what kind of accomplishment it is to start in that many consecutive games. He has the record in almost ever stat and he took a mediocre packers team and carried them on his old back all the way to the conference championship game. And when i watched that game i noticed something. There running game was horrid and there defense sucked too. But somehow Favre managed to keep the game close. Overrated. I would consider him underrated.

I do understand where stemples coming from, the guy has some outstanding records and therefore ppl tend to see him as the best quarterback out there but imo Tom Brady and Peyton Manning can get his records if they can just stay on their feet which Favre did and is still doing!

You do also know how he played in that many consecutive games don't you. He was so hopped up on pain killers. I guess you can play when your not feeling the pain. And secondly, he sucked for the last couple of season's but wait, last year he had a run game and a Defense. And if you are talking about last year's championship, that was a crapshoot with it being so cold. It is funny how when a black qb makes poor decisions and makes mistakes, he is labeled as the stereotypical black qb and called dumb and such, but when God, excuse me i meant Brett Farve, does these things he is labeled as a gunslinger. Talk about a double standard. He is going to be shown for the bum that he is this year in the AFC.
