What matters are results not the socks. They're not going to take them out, they realized now blue socks give them luck. It probably even has little turbines to enhance physiological abilities.
Now some people are talking about the Italian Renaissance.
And I think... Germany will face France in the finals.
There you have it for a collection of random thoughts. |

But Italy got screwed yesterday.. Really nice match for The Netherlands I may well be wrong, but as off right now, there have been three matchs played at 18:00 (CET) and three played at 21:00, two gave poors 1-0, one was another dull 0-0. The evening matchs were way more interesting.
In Germany 2006 I can remember coaches complaining they had to play in the late afternoon when some of their opponents looked favoured and played in the night.
That's one point.
In 2006 again, France looked physically exhausted like in 2004 in the poules matchs, and started playing better and better. In 2004 they arguably played their best match against Greece but still lost it, whereas in 2006 they had poor poules but made their way to the finale without too much trouble. Would football be cycling, I'd say their physical preparation was done in order to peak in the last week.
Last thing : Henry didn't play yesterday, but that wouldn't have done much difference, most likely. Vieira didn't play either, and that's a way greater difference. Malouda is used as a midfielder instead of a winger, together with Toulalan and Makélélé. All the qualification matches played with Vieira used a system with two wingers, and Vieira can be a nice addition offensively, which Toulalan can't.
Playing without Vieira is a bit like playing with one guy less.
Hopefully he'll be back against Netherlands. |

Romania Played too without Dica and another promising midfielder Cristea is not playing our coach sacrificed them for Chivu as miedfler and Mutu as winger
I can say a poor match if we dont use 3 strikers with Italy we are SCREWED !

Yeah, it's a bit sad that the four teams of the Group of Death all have some key players missing because of injuries. But well, that's life...
Where Romania is screwed is that they're playing 2 matchs in the afternoon whereas France and Italy will play/played one and Netherlands none.
UEFA is so NL-biased. |

Aquarius, as to your "playing at different times" arguement. It was a hell of a lot hotter and more humid during the Romania - France match, than it was in the later Netherlands - Italy match. As you said, I think the heat during the earlier matches is making a big difference.

Only real choice since Linderoth hasn't recovered from his injury, and it's not like an injured Linderoth would have been a better choice.
Real question is why Alexandesson is playing
I'm an IFK supporter and all, but come on, we have better players. |

He's the proof that Lagerbäck don't want to try some younger players. Hia logic sucks. He choose a bad Allsvenskan player (Andersson), before a french champion and almost captain (Källström) who has proved that he can handle the defensive work in Lyon. And he choose a 37 year Allsvenskan right-back (Alex) over a Rosenborg player. He shouldn't even be in the 23-men squad, Matias Concha is much better. |
