What doesnt work about it? You can edit pretty much everything about a player and transfer them.
On the transfer note though, it seems that it doesnt work perfectly. It screws up the team selection for races so that the team you race with isnt the one you picked and races has some of your traded players that you cannot control. I assume the latter part at least is because the start lists are generated ahead but how far in advance then? |

I mean the name, you cant change that. or at least not where im looking.
And yes that happens to me although i havnt rode with any of my transfered riders, but it did mess up my team selection.

You can edit the name if you right-click on cyclist and choose "edit stats" |

Also I think I found another bug. In "my cyclicts" in the editor I see cyclics that's not on my team. I have a guy Manuel Ortega in my team but in "my cyclicts" I also view Mauricio Ortega who is a free agent.

Yeah that is a glitch. If there is a person with the same first initial and same last name then they will also show up. like Cameron Evans.

I don't think you can edit age but I think you can edit picture. Look on the first page or the manual.

Indeed when you transfer a rider and he is still inrace it will cause that problem although i don't think its a real problem. Just try to transfer riders when they're not racing.
About the My Cyclists thingie, will look into that, cause that shouldn't happen but also not very big a problem.
And no, not possible to edit photo or date of birth. You really should be looking at Hannes converter/editor for adding new riders Karl, it really isn't that difficult (ok i must admit i've never added a rider). And indeed the easiest would be to take another rider and edit him. (ok now that i reread it, diregard this paragraph if you guys were actually already talking about Hannes ) |

Yes, its not really called an editor for no reason, you should be able to edit DOB and even a riders picture. I find it a bit confusing that they wernt in from the start. And ive looked at hannes before and its waaaaaaaaaay to complicated.

Guys, this isn't a database editor - it's a save game editor which is supposed to be able to edit the things you need to edit during a season. |

So the fact you can edit team roles, specialitys and stats plus many more things not related to a season doesnt count. All im saying is if he wants to make it a season editor then go ahead but dont then say you can edit riders to as good a grade as any because its a lie. Now i know he didnt say that but i asked and people said i could so to say i can and then to go no you cant is wrong and people shouldnt say that. If he wants to make a program that does half then thats fine, i just see it pointless having two programs to do things when you could have one to do both and Jape's is much better, easier to use and an all round better program. I think its a shame that he doesnt do this as it would be much better

You know... when someone spends a lot of time writing something like this and provides it to the community for free... maybe you should just smile and say thanks instead of being critical.
I used to write applications and content for games I played religiously... but now I've stopped bothering. I got enough crap from people at work to get yelled at by strangers over the internet about something I gave them for free.
Now Jape may have thicker skin than I do... but I know I'd be annoyed if someone posted something like you did about something I wrote.
If you don't like it... don't use it. But don't act like he's required to spend more time on something he gave you for free because it isn't good enough for you. |

Thx Kurtin. And indeed Cruetrue has said it all, it was not meant to be a database editor. Essentially all editable things (including team roles, speciality etc) are more savegame related since they're all dynamic things that change during gameplay. Another thing is, as i've stated previously, i dont want to fish in the same pond as Hannes for two reasons: out of respect for letting me use his programming library that makes it possible to have created this, and secondly cause Hannes tools already meets these demands for editing a database. Now you could say there are some quirks to Hannes tools but once you get the hang of it there is no match to his tool since it does everything you could ask for. Also with PCM08 just around the corner IF i would want to create a 'real' database editor, once im finished with that we would already have PCM08 which this year will include a database editor.
But just to be clear, i don't take offence in Karl's post as i can understand his point of view, but there will definetly not be an update providing that kind of functionality. Actually i'm not planning any real updates at all except for fixing bugs. I've worked on this for the last two months and enough is enough, now it's time to actually enjoy the game with a nice PCMDaily DB Career ! |

I wasnt trying to offend you. As i said in my post (if some people would read before posting) Jape didnt do anything, i was saying about other people telling me i could edit things which couldnt be edited, in which they shouldnt have said anything at all. Also Kurt i am appreciative of jape. You do not know what i am thinking and so dont say that i am saying its not good enough, as i think its one of the best programs i have used. Sometimes kurt you need to think before you start saying things on other peoples behalf.
