No then they would say something like that :
Hello
We would like to say that the publisher set a new release date for "game XYZ" from 11th June 2009 to 25th September 2025
Greetings
XYZ

Kind of logical, he's desperate to get a real management game since he built his first Giant project... |

Well i played a early Beta version of that game and it's really a horrible game! So i wouldn't be disappointed if this game won't be released.
It's only a pity that thre won't be any concurrent for cyanide the next years... But i think we have a good and stable PCM now, so who cares! |

The game was a complete disaster , there will be coming somethings... You´ll just have to wait^^
I can say first that :
The whole work was a distaster , but not only the game.. If you will know some things , you would see that the game was a disaster even the game wasn´t at beta

So , here is a little overview over Cycling Evolution 2008 , the maybe worst game ever made in sports (I can remember Tour de France , but that was better even it wasn´t realistic (How Millar won green , yes thank heaven))
First I was blended by the music and the menu , but after playing it 5-10 minutes you are just fed up and you are thinking about throwing something out of the window and yell "Jarr wharrt a game" as loud I could yell , but it´s very impractical to have a skylight , I don´t like to dance on my desk
So :
The game is a complete disaster , I was a betatester and I haven´t signed any NDAs , that shows how they are working professional , on my request : How can I sign a NDA without a complicated , print NDA , sign NDA , scan NDA and send that as a E-Mail to the one who should get that : Not 1 word , so I know much about the game
That game is a complete disaster (Have said that but I could reply it 1000 times , that deserves the whole team (but not the Betatesters , I think the only group that made their work 100% right and as good as they can)
First , the stats are very horrible , Boonen 70 in sprint , Van Summeren 80 , yes of course , also Boonen could win Tour de France , yes thank heaven (so we are at the game Tour de France where Millar could also win the Tour de France )
I´ve said that the team immediatly , thats just stupid , that shows that they haven´t got ideas , I must thank Cyanide for making a game like CM1 which was better!
But even after weeks that problems wasn´t solved , so thats their fault
Also the results were just kidding the people :
A complete flat stage , 100 KMs , there come a time trial result (I call that)
To give you a example :
(the names were wrong , don´t know if Fedrigo was called so in the game , I mean it´s Bouygues)
Fodrigo 5 hours 10 minutes 5 seconds
Potacchi 5 hours 10 minutes 8 seconds
McIwen 5 hours 10 minutes 10 seconds
And so on , thats time trial results not flat stage
Also it´s very amusing (as a cycling fan it´s very sad) that Boonen wins Mountain stages in a row when you simmed that , even with the latest version (RC3 = Release Candidate 3 you hear right , that was planned to released out , that version was a potential version to bring that out) , also Cancellara won Tour de France 1 time , because of their DB
The DB is a worse DB :
I think the riders got 7 roles :
Sprint (has got 70 flat and 80 sprint)
Mountain (80 mountain and 70 hill)
Stage Rider (60 in mountain , hill , time trial)
Bad (everywhere 50)
Captain (Boonen is one : got 80 flat , everywhere 70)
Time Trialist (80 TT)
The last I can´t remember but there are 6 stats (right 6)
Flat , Mountain , Hills , Time Trial , Downhill and Sprint , no endurance (I will come up to that)
6 Stats , also a less important Downhill where Endurance would be more important I mean a 18 year old rider can´t connect to people who are 24 and like Cunego a longer time in cycling racing with sucess
Now to the 3D-Mode :
Just one word : Disaster , the endurance system isn´t no where explained , when you fast forward a stage (128 was maximum at the latest version , not 512 as it was planned where it goes wush (15 seconds maybe and you got to the last KM)) , your rider don´t do anything , the other riders attacked , I played the same stage (Criterium International the 2nd Stage to the Mont Faron , 93 KM I think) , I took Van Summeren (A sprinter , 80 in sprint) and let him attack at the first hill , got a 10 second gap , I thought wuah it´s ugly (that was it , I have 2GHZ , 2GB RAM but a GeForce 6600 GT) , I could play that only on the lowest settings (without shadows etc.) , so much to "Low config settings for weak PCs , a weak PC must be 2GHZ and GB RAM and a GeForce 6 , Middle must be a GeForce 9000 GT XYZ or what?) , Van Summeren get at the middle out of endurance , but was faster than the peloton! He managed without endurance to finish first with more than 30 seconds to win the stage , also the commands aren´t really well explained also on a 93 KM stage no bottles , also no bottles to take of , really realistic)
Even it is 1:1 , thats just a a joke
Also the endurance system , I feeled that the program thought how could they just give him some work?
On every little mountain or hill , the sprints fall behind , at Milan-San Remo , how should the sprinter manage that? The Endurance system was just ..... When you simulated very fast , 8 riders of a team , 6 become at the middle some problems and got no endurance , only 2 will have no problems (sometimes 3)
But it had a good idea : The stage editor
Just simple :
You got a profile (first totally flat) , you must set the KM and when you click at the profile maybe 100 Metres above the ground of KM 5 , you created a mountain , where you clicked , you got the highest point
But a stage editor isn´t enough , the basics (Realism) isn´t given , when Cycling Fans worked on that , they would see that the game hasn´t got anything to do with cycling
The whole game was a bag full of jokes , even the team (but not the Betatester)
You cycling fans should be lucky that the game doesn´t come out , that was only a joke to Cyanide I think
More will be possible come |

Wow, that would be fantastic
next summer, I want to create my own cycling game project, that will reportedly be awesome, then turn out to fail. just so we can get cyanide off their collective fat ass to improve the game for 2009.
who's with me?

Great idea issoisso!
I was (im writing was, because I don't feel like a member of the team anymore) betatester, too.
And it was horrible to see what a bad team can make of the wonderful cycling. But I thought, this is cycling? A sport? No! I saw 200 rider, who are on a hobby freetime event, like me with my family riding to Düsseldorf along the beautiful rhine. |

it's sad how the game turned out to be (or not be, in this case), but I guess there's hope. Clément Pinget of cyanide mentioned in an interview many months ago that the programming team had been completely restructured, and we've seen this year what a good job they've done by comparison to the previous team, so I guess there's hope that the game will continue to improve from year to year as much as it did from 2007 to 2008. We've got to keep up hope, right?
