Euro 2008: Gone
Rugby World Title: Gone
F1 Championship: Gone

The Brits coulnd;t actually be happier - we crave disappointment, and this week has quite possibly been our favourite sporting week in a long time :lol::lol:

Seriously though, Euro 2008 - we all want to lose now
Rugby World Cup - I don't even know how we got to the final
F1 Championship - Hamilton loses because of total and utter rookie mistakes - he lost it

Go Raikkonen! B)

Hopefully Honda will produce a decent car next year, either that or McLaren off their free spot to Button. Pfft

Its not over yet!!!!

Kimi Raikkonen's world title has been thrown into doubt following an inquiry into the cars of BMW Sauber and Williams at the Brazilian Grand Prix.

Race stewards are investigating alleged irregularites with the cars' fuel.

Williams's Nico Rosberg was fourth in the race, followed by BMW Sauber's Robert Kubica and Nick Heidfeld.

If they were disqualified, McLaren driver Lewis Hamilton would be promoted to fourth, giving him enough points to displace Raikkonen as world champion.

Luckily not. With such rookie mistakes Hamilton didn't deserve to win anyway Wink

Fuck McLaren, sore losers, they should be happy not all the driver points have been stripped earlier this year. FIA was easy on them there. So how do they have the nerve to go against his decision now Rolling Eyes
What nerve...

gutted. not about the title, I couldn't care less who wins the title. I just wanted to enjoy the show without knowing who won.

I haven't gotten to see the race and some idiot decided it would be a great idea to text message me saying "wow. Raikkonen world champion!!!". fuck.

anyway....

Raikkonen is the rider with the most wins this season

only because Ferrari called Massa in far earlier than needed so he'd fall behind and Raikkonen would win. nothing wrong with that, but Raikkonen would not have the most wins.

, he deserves the title.

come again? you either aren't much into it what's going on or you're a Raikkonen fanboy.

Hamilton made a rookie mistake to drop from 3rd to 6/7th but his engine problem dropped him to 18th in 40 secondsRolling Eyes

he made his way up into the points and based on that, despite his mistakes he was the best driver on that day with risky overtaking etc.

also his 3 stop strategy was crap but...

it was only his 1st year and no-one expected him to win it this year, he has done very well, nothing else can be said.

Isso, I dont seriously believe that Button will go to McLaren, but I can always hope in the 0.1% chance that he does Pfft

Not really an engine problem, as he admitted pushing the wrong button (he launched the race start procedure :lolSmile, so it's all his fault.

Anyway, as Prost said, every one would have find it natural that Alonso would have been called 1st driver last Winter, and Hamilton (a rookie at that time) 2nd driver. Alonso would have been world champion that way.
McLaren can only blame themselves for losing the title(s).

oh well i take it all back, it was Hamilton's fault, but he is a rookie and these things happen.Wink

I'd have loved it that had been the case

but actually, that was an article published by Canadian newspaper La Presse that was immediatelly picked up by French and Italian media and published as "fact".

Hamilton denied ever saying that and said he never spoke to La Presse.

later, rumours circulated that this video proved it was Hamilton's fault.
(notice he pushes a button and immediately the car stops)

however, there's plenty of info available on the steering wheel of the McLaren (especially at F1technical.net) where you can see that that button is the "drink" button
(drivers have got a tube coming into their helmet with fresh drink), as was also later explained by McLaren in a press statement.

also, if he had in fact pressed the launch sequence button, it would only have set the engine to a certain revs (the pre-programmed ones for the start), and only if he was in neutral, which was not the case.

As expected, Ron Dennis has given Alonso permission to contact other teams. However, he may not go to a team which is "as good as" McLaren (I didn't really get the exact details of that), meaning that Renault is excluded. Rumours say that he will go to BMW - Williams for one season, before joining Ferrari.

he most certainly won't go to BMW Williams because that team ended about two years ago Smile

his most likely options according to the only source you can really trust for this kind of thing are Red Bull and Williams. apparently, he's got all set up with Red Bull except for the length of the contract which is causing big problems. logically he wants only one year. logically, the team wants more.
