Eneco Tour

Stage 6

i1272.photobucket.com/albums/y382/Axel_Choteau/Anthony/2014/23%20Eneco/PCM0006_zpsfc4507f1.jpg

This stage was not a stage we had to worry about, there were no dangerous rider in the brekaway so we let them go, Omega Pharma - QuickStep did not seem to car either and it's Mitchell Docker ( OGE) who won the sprint of the group.

Stage 7

i1272.photobucket.com/albums/y382/Axel_Choteau/Anthony/2014/23%20Eneco/PCM0007_zpsa0754222.jpg

The last stage of the race was a stage in my advantage, narrow roads, cobbles sections and some though hill were on the way.

A breakaway of 12 riders left, David Boucher was inside so we did not have to chase them.

i1272.photobucket.com/albums/y382/Axel_Choteau/Anthony/2014/23%20Eneco/PCM0016_zps3fabf6ff.jpg

With 20 kilometers left, the breakaway had still 5' on the oack, I felt I had something to play so I attacked, no one reacted and my team mates were faking the pace of the pack.

i1272.photobucket.com/albums/y382/Axel_Choteau/Anthony/2014/23%20Eneco/PCM0017_zpsc638714f.jpg

In the end, Lloyd Mondory ( ALM) won the stage with David taking 5th position.
I did manage to stay in front of the pack but no gap were made too bad...

Concerning the General Ranking it appears that Johan Esteban Cháves Rubio ( OGE) was taken in a break few kilometers from the finish, he lost his second position in the GC to Philippe Gilbert ( BMC) and I moved up to 3rd position!!

Astana Pro Team

Third in the Overall Ranking, two jerseys back home, that race could not have end better for me, I really hope this will make team think of me for next season.

I'm not sure if I am going to china or not in October but I'm part of the pre selection.

And I should also be at my first World Championships this season.

Anthony Louveille.

Third place for Anthony is certainly a well earned result Smile

Not sure why anyone would pass on Anthony now Wink

@sutty68: It is, and I really fought for it Grin

@welker3257: I can not agree more with you on that, my results are great and I can be a good team mate too Smile

Quest to a contract Part 4
Now that the Eneco Tour is over it's time for me to present you some offer I had during the past few weeks:

DivisionTeamNATRoleContract
CTLa Pomme MarseilleAbsolute Leader1year
CTRoubaix Lille MétropoleAbsolute Leader1year
CTBigMat - Auber93Absolute Leader1year
PCTIAM Pro CyclingProtected Rider1year
PCTCofidis, Solutions CréditsProtected Rider2years
WTGarmin - SharpLuxury Team-Mate---
WTTeam Tinkoff - Saxo BankTeam-Mate---

The two world Tour team are just talkings, nothing is made yet with them but I think I could expect a proposition from them soon.

Concerning the other teams, I'm currently thinking of IAM Pro Cycling that should make the move to World Tour next season. As their Classic Squad is perhaps already great, I might not find myself a good spot.

Cofidis is good team too but my profile is too much like Adrien Petit. We would be too many time in competition and this would not be the bes for neither of us. The contract is still interesting as they offer me two years with them which is better than a one year contract especially if I only start to ride in July.

And to conclude this, the Three French Continental Teams made offers that I could take if any of the other contracts come to an end, I have nothing against them but I fill I belong to the World Tour level.

Anthony Louveille.

welker3257
I'd say go for Cofidis or IAM, maybe a CT team if they are going to promote to PCT Wink

Ian Butler
Anthony is too good for CT, and too good to be a helper for a WT team. So Cofidis or IAM are the way to go.

@welker3257: Thanks for your advice, but for the moment these are only options I have, I will wait until the end of September before taking my final decision Wink

@Ian Butler: That's also what I was thinking, but I will wait for the offers of Tinkoff and Garmin before taking a crucial decision Grin

Arnaud once again proved that he was one of the Best Sprinter of the Pro Pelloton by winning for the second time the "only" sprint classic.

Race Report:

We had a cool day today, the pack was not really looking to block morning attackers and 6 riders decided to make the race at the front.

i1272.photobucket.com/albums/y382/Axel_Choteau/Anthony/2014/24%20Chateauroux/PCM0002_zps42ae505e.jpg

Of course we had Nacer in our squad so our role was to ride against them, we were the only team to work today and I can understand that since we had to top sprinter (Nacer and Geoffrey) with us.

I was not part of the sprint train today as I was looking for points (I will never have enough Wink).

Anyway, Nacer was the best here and while Arnaud was winning in Germany, Nacer took the victory here in France.

With four race left in the PMU French Cup, I'm almost sure of winning it. What we are sure of is that it will be a FDJ.fr rider who will won it Grin.

I've made my decision, I will end my season after the Tour de Vendée which mean no Beijing for me this year.

I have now 9 race left including the World Championships where I should wear the colors of France. I will ride the GP Ouest France - Plouay but no Canadian Classics.

Pre-Race:

There are no leader decided here, everyone will have his own chance.

I might wait for the final if it' ever end in a sprint I could use my power to get a descent result here.

Race Report:

The race started very fast, it was almost impossible to get away from the pack while Cannondale was really making a high pace.

When the things slowed down 7 riders left the pack, there were:

- Nathan Earle ( SKY)
- Pierrick Fédrigo ( FDJ)
- Davide Villella ( CAN)
- Julian David Arredondo Moreno ( RLT)
- Matteo Di Serafino ( AND)
- Tobias Ludvigsson ( ARG)
- Alberto Contador Velasco ( TST)

i1272.photobucket.com/albums/y382/Axel_Choteau/Anthony/2014/25%20Plouay/PCM0002_zpsa80bff62.jpg

Behind, the pack was well organized with riders of OPQS at its head, they were controlling the gap quite well and no other team felt they had to help them.

i1272.photobucket.com/albums/y382/Axel_Choteau/Anthony/2014/25%20Plouay/PCM0003_zps4399e480.jpg

Then during about 130 kilometers, nothing happened.

With 35 kilometers left, Vasil Kiryienka ( SKY) launched the hostilities, he did not went far but he inspired many other riders.

i1272.photobucket.com/albums/y382/Axel_Choteau/Anthony/2014/25%20Plouay/PCM0004_zps390412d4.jpg

Meanwhile at the front of the race, Alberto Contador Velasco ( TST) was now riding alone toward the finish. He had left his companion with 25 kilometers to go.

i1272.photobucket.com/albums/y382/Axel_Choteau/Anthony/2014/25%20Plouay/PCM0005_zpse188b418.jpg

While Contador was riding alone, Alessandro Ballan ( BMC) launched an acceleration. It was very powerful but the team mates of Peter Sagan ( CAN) were watching closely.

i1272.photobucket.com/albums/y382/Axel_Choteau/Anthony/2014/25%20Plouay/PCM0006_zps518e44f9.jpg

The last attacks of the day was made by Edvald Boasson Hagen ( SKY) who took Lars Ytting Bak ( LTB) with him.

Yoann did not hesitate, he went to the front of the pack and he brought them back, we were now preparing for a sprint.

i1272.photobucket.com/albums/y382/Axel_Choteau/Anthony/2014/25%20Plouay/PCM0007_zps38e0f0e9.jpg

I made the sprint with Anthony, we were super fast but we started too late, Peter Sagan ( CAN) anticipated our moves and took the victory.

Anthony took the second position while I ended third. If the line was 150 meters after we would have made the double Frown.

A third position at that time of the season if comforting, I scored some more WT points that could be decisive in my quest to a contract.

Next race for me is in Belgium with Paris - Bruxelles, I might be there as a helper for Arnaud and Nacer.

Trust Sagan to spoil the party Frown, but 2nd and 3rd are still very good performances Smile

@sutty68: it was so close, I wish I had started sooner but it's true that Sagan will always be number one Wink

This was a fast race, the pack was riding so fast that it was almost impossible to leave the pack and this during the whole stage.

Of course when the end came close, Yoann accelerate so we would end the stage in a sprint. Nacer and Arnaud already had great season done that this was a surprise to see Sacha Modolo ( LAM) taking the victory, of they were not far from the 1st place as Nacer ended 2nd and Arnaud 3rd.

Race Report:

After missing the victory in Bruxelles, we really wanted to win in France. Unfortunately, the finish was too hard for our sprinters.

Jempy Drucker ( AJW) came in first followed by Marcel Kittel ( ARG) and Francisco José Ventoso Alberdi ( MOV).

We were 4 of the team in the top 10.

As the races go, the end of my season is approaching and I still don't sign for any team yet.

I had some other offers I'm not allowed to talk about but I will make my final decision after the World Championships.

I'm now getting ready for the Tour du Doubs - Conseil Général, the profile suit me a lot and I really think that it will be my last chance of winning something this season.
