Congratz Ian. You beat Sagan in an impressive manner so yeah, you are definitely one to look out for at Tirreno - Adriatico.

Great to see Ian extend his lead on the GC
Surely, barring accidents this race is in the bag |

shonak: I would think he is always one to watch at this point
Ian Butler: He sure did
sutty68: It is in the bag
In stage 6, nothing interesting happened, Cavendish killed Sagan in the sprint and Ian finished safely in 29th place. Tirreno stage 1 up tonight.

Tirreno-Adriatico Preview
This year's Tirreno is going to be a hard race. The race starts with a 20 km hilly Time Trial that should create some relatively large gaps. The race also features three hilly days, two of which are hill-top finishes. The big GC day is a 200+ km day in the mountains, which features 9 categorized climbs.
The Team
MTN brings its best riders to this race. I will lead and go for the GC. Stybar will go for stages; Thomas and Pardilla will assist me in the GC days.
Full Startlist
This year's race has an extremely strong startlist, highlighted by: Nibali, Quintana, Betancur, Contador, and Hesjedal. The three best sprinters are here as well, as Cavendish, Kittel, and Greipel will square off on the two flat days. I would be satisfied with a top 10, but I will shoot for the podium.
Tirreno-Adriatico Stage 1
The race starts with a 20 km time trial that won't go to a specialist. The route suits me perfectly, and I would like to take a podium place today.
The Race
My teammate Geraint set the best early time, crossing the line with a time of 32 04.
Thomas was still in the hot seat when my start rolled around, and I felt great during my warm-up. (+5 daily form)
I set the best time at both checks, and I cross the line I look at the clock and it reads 31 37, giving me the new best time by a large margin.
It would be safe to say that Contador's ride today was a disappointment, the Spaniard rode the course 50 seconds slower than I did, and he looks to be out of form.
Quintana was the second rider to under perform today, as the Colombian finished 1 11 behind me today.
The last rider who could challenge my time was Nibali, and he just missed out on the win, finishing 18 seconds behind the stage winner, Ian Boswell!

Post Race Comments- Sure did not expect this, I didn't think I would win a WT time trial in my second year as a pro! I actually went up on the podium 6 times today, as MTN took the team title for today. This is great and I will defend my lead with all my ability in tomorrow's hilly stage.
See You Then- Ian

Good Ghandi Hilly TTs are so easy to win, will probably go to extreme for one stage next time Ian race's one
75% chance stage 2 is up tonight. |

Thanks for the comments, this will go really slow for the next two weeks due to semester exams, so I can't give you a timetable for the next few stages. Once exams are over, I will have tons of time, and I will probably do most of the season quickly.

The first road stage of the Italian race is a hilly day with 6 categorized climbs on the route. The stage suits the break, but it doubt it will make to the finish.
The Race
A five man group formed the day's break early on in the stage. The riders: Roy of FDJ, Vanmarcke of Belkin, Txurruka of Oakley, Taborre of Yellow Fluo, and Di Serafino of Androni.
With 15 km to go, Koing opened the attacking with an unsuccessful move. The break has split, and Roy is 30 seconds ahead of the others. It is 1 15 from the bunch to Roy.
With 5 km to go Roy leads Carlos Betancur by 25 seconds. The rest of the break has been caught, and the Colombian has 20 seconds on the peloton as the road ramps up.
With 2 km to go, Betancur catches the Frenchman. I have left the bunch on the climb, and I'm still 20 seconds behind the Colombian.
Betancur was easily able to withstand my late charge, and he takes the win, taking a total of 20 seconds after time bonuses. Roy is third, Nibali and F. Schleck lead in a group of 15 that finishes 43 seconds behind Betancur.

Post Race Comments- Not much I could do today about Betancur, he rode a great race, and he deserved the win. I did gain some time on everyone but the Colombian, so it was a good day for me. The next stage is a little easier than today's stage, but I will be ready for the attacks to rain down.
