I don't have time to post a lot, but I try to read up on your story when I get a chance. I like to cheer for the underdog
How many riders are you aiming for in your squad for next season? Any minimum share of Czech riders you are targetting? Or maybe you'll answer this in your transfer post(s)
Maybe you could share your squad screen again for recap. |

@ Fernando - Thanks, you wont have to wait long now
@ sutty - Yeah. I was hoping Krotky would also have a good season, and he has but Hunal has been amazing.
@ Ian and HaRe - Thanks. That will be my next post!
@ dacascos - Thanks a lot Great to hear, I think smaller teams are a lot more interesting than just reading about the same top teams all the time.
The squad is one the first page in one of the First 3 posts I think. I've targeted a few Czech riders, overall I'm bringing the squad size up a bit.

Okay, so this is the first bit of team news in a while. The team has wrapped up contract negotiations with its own riders and its very pleased to announce that every rider from this years team will be returning for next year, including Rostislav Krotky who had contemplated retiring as he is at the age of 36 now. Next season may be his last, but he should be a key rider for us still.
But now we are on to the most exciting news, and that is the new signings!
Our first guy was a free agent this year, but he has still raced on the road and scored some nice climbing results this year, an area in which we are pretty much lacking this year! He is still pretty young and being Czech we feel he was a great choice for the team and will fit in well! Lubomir Petrus is the rider we are talking about and he was signed to help strengthen our climbing with the lack of it right now.
The 2nd rider we can announce today is Jakub Vecera who we think is a bright hope for the future in terms of being a climber. Atleast for CT teams. I dont think he would ever become a top climber in the WT level but for CT and PCT he should be a quality rider. He's very young and has some nice results but just like Petrus he was a free agent this year and liked the idea of joining a Czech team. He also answers the teams questions about its strength in the mountains, but not immediately.
There will be more riders announced later, and some which are pretty well known in cycling, but they aren't quite finalised just yet. We hope its exciting for our fans though!

Cool to see Petrus in! Seems like I'm not the only one contracting cyclocross riders who ride for BKCP - Powerplus irl I'm sure he'll give you some nice results in smaller races |

Thanks a lot everyone! Its great to hear things like this.
@ sisse - Yeah I was looking at a few Polish riders when he came up. I decided he looked like a good fit and then found out he was actually Czech and was set wrong in the db (as well as Niels Albert ) so I pretty much signed him as soon as I could!

Its time for two more signings to be announced for next season!
The first guy is a talented Czech rider from the Etixx team, although its unfortunately not Peter Vakoc. The guy we have signed is Tomas Koudela. He's not quite as talented, but he's certainly not short of talent. Some say he could be a top CT puncheur so we've signed him and hope that he can have success with our team now! He's a long term signing but in terms of the quality on the team now, he's probably still going to be one of our strongest riders.
And the final Czech rider we have signed is Jan Svorada. The same name as a former cyclist from the 90's and early 00's, but this one I assure you is young and already a gifted sprinter. He's coming to the team and will boost our sprinting results or atleast thats the plan. The team want to make a push for the ProContinental division next season and if we can continue the results this year, and then add these talented riders, I think we can do so.
Thanks for reading once again! Stay tuned for our final 2 signings and probably our biggest as well!

Two other nice and realistic transfers! Now I'm waiting for Leopold König or Jan Barta (not that these would be too realistic )

Nice signings so far. At least two of them should develop into useful riders, Svorada as the most promising, it seems. I'm a fan of keeping a local/national focus on small teams like yours, so i prefer signing not too overpowered Czech talents over too big additions, stat-wise.
Looking forward to the mentioned biggest signing though

Fantastic signings valv!
And actually, that Jan Svorada you signed is son of Jan Svorada who was famous 10-15 years ago.

Thanks a lot everyone! Im glad you think the signings are realistic so far
@ sisse - I wish, but they are too good and probably will be riding PT next year as NetApp are leading the Continental teams in the CQ rankings.
@ tsmoha - Yeah, thats the hope anyway I have a good feeling about Svorada and Koudela was riding for Omega Pharma's feeder team so that is a pretty good sign.
@ Roman - Thank you!
I didn't actually know that, so he should be Jan Svorada Jr. then
And everyone, Im beginning to write up the final signings, so look out for that shortly

Okay so finally our two biggest signings!
The first is a Polish rider (who irl has just signed on as a Stagaire for Saxo) Pawel Poljanski. Poljanski is a very talented rider who is most comfortable on short climbs. He's been kind of inconsistent as a young rider, but he's also proven to be a very strong rider on a few occasions, beating well known climbing talents, and winning the national Road Race title at the age of 22.
Signing him on, means we have a rider with some serious potential. He could be a big thing in a few years time, and he chose to atleast develop his art with us for a couple seasons. I am really looking forward to what he will be able to do next season. He's even got a pretty good turn of speed, so quite the handy rider!
And the final rider is Marco Haller the Austrian! He's been highly regarded before, but since joining Katusha he hasn't quite lived up to the praise. It was time for him to take a step down and he was quite comfortable racing in the UCI Europe Tour before with Adria Mobil where he has loads of success, so it should be the same here!
He is a similar mould to Hunal, although probably a bit better at sprinter. And yes, he will also be our best sprinter next year, so its quite the signing if you ask me.
So thats it everybody. The only 1 left was Hruska who I posted about earlier. Now its on to one of the season goals, the Czech Cycling Tour!

Haller should do very well with his allround skills and the 70+ combo in HI/SPR! And like all of your signings, he is likely to even improve. Well done!
