The other post only stated that Peiper had left Garmin, this one tell us where he has gone
Mind you I do like a good Casper, maybe we should move on to Danny Pate

Niki "everyone knows Johnny Hoogerland and I are on the dope" Terpstra's take on the Armstrong mess.
Terpstra says that those implicated in USADA’s Reasoned Decision are from an era that has little to do with the current crop of young cyclists. While he’s witnessed a number of doping scandals since turning professional with Team Milram in 2007 he hopes it’s a theme that, at least in this instance, will be short-lived.

In other words, "Don't talk about ze doping"
The preceding post is ISSO 9001 certified

....Wait what? What on earth are you talking about?
Yes I am Dutch, but I have never ever seen anyone make such a statement at all about either Terpstra or Hoogerland. From my perspective, it seems quite unlikely that 'everyone knows they are on drugs'. Could you please provide some kind of reference to that statement, any form of speculation at all, any circumstantial evidence as to why either Terpstra or Hoogerland can be linked to doping?
I mean, to me it sounds like you literally only just made this up. |

Quite well known, that. I've been told by a good source who found out from a good source. |

Yeah its pretty common knowledge about Terpstra ever since he did well a few years back for Milram, and Hoogerland is one of the more suspicious riders from the blood passport report a year or two back, I seem to recall.

Isso can give you some more depth, but I've heard from multiple people that Terpstra and Hoogerland are well known as dopers dating back to their Junior days, and that's it's kind of an open secret within the Dutch racing community. |

I just finished doing some research on both of them.
Seems like the primary reasons for suspicion on Hoogerland are:
-Great season in 2009, then he was tested loads in the off-season by his own admission, average since.
-tested positive for high testosterone a very long time ago (1998 I believe), supposedly it was ok because he has naturally high testosterone. Isso mentions Ricco as a similar example on CN.
-After his 2011 TdF crash, people are interpreting certain marks on his rear as possible needle marks.
About Terpstra:
-His most prominent link to doping seems his membership (2007-2010) of the Milram team which had several doping suspensions in 2007 and 2008. Milram Manager Gianluigi Stanga was accused of actively distributing it by Jörg Jacksche.
-During the 2007-2008 years his most prominent results were KoM jersey in the Deutschland Tour, 4th Overall Three Days of de Panne, Combative Rider for Stage 13, Tour de France. Personally I don't think these are suprising results that suggest doping.
-During those years he had teammates like Brett Lancaster, Christian Knees and Peter Velits. I think it's a bit unfair to put all of them down as dopers just because they rode for Milram in '07-08.
For both of them, the links made are circumstantial, and sometimes have fallacies in them. All the links do add up though, and so I'm definitely going to look at them from now on with a more critical eye. Thanks for the feedback, if you guys have anything else to add to both of them feel free to do so. |

isso can give you more when he comes back around. There isn't any sort of direct evidence against them, it's more of a wink wink sort of thing... |

Wow. Very surprising and sad if true.
Wonder what wil happen to the riders though. I guess Cannondale will be licking their lips. I feel sorry for the guys that signed with Rabo this year. Vanmarcke ( if he did sign at all that is.. Bobridge ? And others. Damn ;/

Will they be able to find another (Dutch) sponsor?
I suppose the team will close completely - let the hunt begin!

And: Sad indeed to lose such a long-lasting sponsor

Real classy Rabobank, announce youre not continuing next year .. on October 19th. Nice way to screw over a load of riders and team staff, if they now have to hunt for other teams when there is no space left.
