Mountain TT for 2014 was a certainty, but now the Worlds may not happen there.
And of course with McQuaid orgasming over anglophones he's pushing hard to get it changed to yorkshire.
The preceding post is ISSO 9001 certified

Same with the ITT. Have some variation like combine an MTT with a Flat RR (where possible). Hilly TT's (properly, not like once over the Cauberg) and TT's over cobbles. May mean we see different winners more often.
Say whaaaat?
Schleck can do one thing: climb. He's useless at everything else.

Didnt he win LBL.... They can climb and do hilly... was the first name that popped in... How about Valverde or Puriot then?
Cancellara, cobbles, some hills, flat
Boonen, flat, cobbles
Purito, mountains, hills
just in case anyone was confused

Schleck is a good hilly rider, but thats just short climbs, and he's not really the best at them. Plus, I think he attacked on a flat and stayed away in his win, if that means anything (I can only recall from watching on youtbue)
Valverde and Purito are climbers (mo and hil) and they both have pretty decent sprints too. Purito I would say, is one of the Top 5 hilly riders in the world.
Boonen is even pretty good on hills as well.

Only in the short and not extremely hard Flanders hills. In a hard hilly course Boonen has no chance, and I guess that was the point.

I think PCM Daily should overthrow UCI, clearly there are people here who would do a much better job
And we are on it 24/7 |

The 2015 Richmond races will essentially be in my backyard (a couple hours south of DC by car)...except I'll be at college. Fuck. I'll probably take the train down for the weekend though.
It's going to be an awful race though, there's nothing in Richmond to use to make a good course. |

That should be a very exciting course. First the longer climb to Fiesole, then a short, brutal ramp up Via Salviati.

bloody boring is all i can say.
Too few climbs for there to be a real selection, easy to dig deeper to hang on. Sagan type rider will win. Someone who can get over a hill and sprint. Maybe a sprinter like Rojas or Hushovd with a chance.
Either make it really hilly, mountainous etc. Dont do this...

Depends on how the race plays out. If a powerhouse teams settles on the front and guns it, they'll be a hell of a selection. If it's cat and mouse, I agree, we'll see a good sized group, and Sagan or a like will win. |

I dont see a team that will be willing and able to do that
Spain are always to selfish. Italy arent good enough. Sagan is alone. France isnt quite good enough. Belgium may be able to, but it all depends on day form for the supporting riders.
I dont see it being that good... But i hope i'm wrong

Schleck has done one race on cobbles...and finished in the front group with Hushovd, Cancellara, Geraint Thomas, and former MTBer Ryder Hesdejal. Granted that was a weird stage, but I wouldn't be surprised if he was actually a reasonable cobbles rider. Contador as well.

You have no idea what the teams will look like in two years.

Seriously, look closer at the route. It's the hardest Worlds route since god knows when. Maybe since Duitama.

How, a 5km long climb at a mid percentage, and a short bump with a max ramp of only 12%?
It probably is one of the hardest in a while, but that isn't saying much, and what appears to be the consistency of that longer climber, combined with the shortness of the real kicker, makes me think it'll be difficult for anyone to get away late. |

Fiesole is over 4km @6%, but it gets harder at the end, the last 2km are around 8%. Both smaller bumps have steep slopes as well. Repeat that 10 times in a 280km route and it's a killer.
