I feel that it should be the managers choice - it reflects real life in a way that also works in game. |

Plus, it's not that difficult to deal with other managers - yes there are some who have better friendships and therefore make more deals (it seems to me that rjc and SN are an example but i wait to be corrected) but in general most people are easy enough to deal with, especially as you've done nothing to anger anyone beagle. |

do you want a friend? BUY ONE
there is no chance of getting neither Mohs nor Kluge though
anyway, I can easily deal with fact that rules aren´t same for everyone (like IRL), I just wanted to share with my thoughts how to change it

technically, the rules are the same for everyone - people's personal rules may not be but the game's are. |

I'd say I trade the most favourably with dave, Oleg and SN. Mostly dave if you care to look back at all my previous season trades. |

While i do think it's strange for some managers to not accept high bids when they already got a deal, ultimately it's their choice. Personally, i wouldn't do it either, as a word is a word (something that not all managers follow).
What i do hate, are the managers that will accept a new transfer deal for an increase of a low amount, probably to start a bid war on their rider?

I'll second that - Dave and SN are excellent managers to trade with.
They are managers after win-win deals. |

Smowz- The point on my salary cap decisions may come into play this year as well, but i believe it was more of a reference to last year. I had Spilak, Uran, Burghardt, Zabriskie, Keizer, etc and had no way too keep them all within the cap. I decided to keep Zabriskie as he has been a big part of my team and that eventually led me to go the more American route after letting Uran and Keizer walk while messing up Spilak negotiations. Sure, i would have liked to have a season of world domination with that lot but the salary cap did its job in that it ensured a degree of parity but i was still able to recover rather well. To me, it was a nice challenge and ultimately such a salary cap structure helps move riders around.
And managers should be able to by and large do what they wish. Even though many of us may have made more deals with others in the past, i know most of us are open to anything and always willing to hear people out.
With regards to transfer talk, the cap issues i faced above are one reason it would be foolhearty to make too rigid plans right now. You dont know how much cap room you will have or even what your team will look like. I went from having 2 top GT riders to Zabriskie being my best climber after renewals last year. its not like you're going to miss out on anything anyways, I havent gotten a single pm. Once renewals are done i'll welcome anyone who has any ideas though.

About the trade between teams, I don't see why the rules should change.
For example you come to an agreement with someone to buy the X rider for 500k. Nobody seems interested in buying that rider and you think that you can go after other riders you want to sign. Then, 1 hour before the transfer ends someone comes up with an offer of 550k (the 10% increase that, I think, beagle suggested). Coming with a higher offer shouldn't be too hard, but if you already spent your other money on other rider(s), thinking that this one was basically a sealed deal, you could lose the rider.
As Crommy said, since you own the rider, you should be able to sell him to who you want on what price you want.

And plus, if that kind of situation occured, both managers have to confirm the deal. If someone was going to refuse me the ability to sell a rider to someone, I'd just cancel the whole thing, so no one would get the rider. |

and in his oppinion what I did to secure my main rival didn't get the best-cheap rider in the FA was unethical.
Opinion, or rather fact?
--
And personally on the whole 'transfer friends' thing. I look at the riders I want, and Ill enquire about them - whoever the manager. Ditto if someone asks about my rider, Ill respond the same way, whoever it is.
If Rjc is seen as having an advantage in terms of deals with me, its purely because we discuss the game and our own plans a fair bit on MSN, so have a fairly good idea of what the other person is after. Plus its easier to 'beg' on MSN "Loan my crappy rider!" "Go on, he needs xp!"

Yeah, you keep trying to sponge some shite rider off on me for next season already on loan. What's his name again? Clava? Cleva? I can't remember, but I won't take him, he's awful!
