You have to overwrite the .nif file in the folder in CM_Meshes.

That's because the file needs to be added to the database. That's not very easy so the best thing to do is overwrite another helmet thats already in the DB. Are you playing with the PCM daily database?

You can overwrite helmet1_tt I think and then select it in the custom equipment tab.
