Great win for Stijn, he's in great shape. Strange that the stage was rated flat, though...

Good race from the Garmin-boys, and the WC paid them back

Jesleyh - Yeah, there are 4 "flat" stages in this Paris - Nice, but only that first one was really flat.
sutty68 - His name will be lost in oblivion, that of Stijn will make history
PCM rulezz - Sweet, sweet revenge
kimiopn - Let's hope he ceonquers Flanders as well later on
I'll do stage 4 a little later today!

Paris - Nice :: Stage 4
Stijn: Once again classified as flat, we think a final jump may work, too!
Willy: I'm looking not to lose time, that's all.
brought to you by Eurosport
Welcome in the race to the sun, we're in the middle of the fourth stage and four men broke away and now have a five minute lead.
Team Sky is working hard to bring back the break. They certainly believe in Mark Cavendish ' chances today, despite the third category climb near the finish.
An important moment here, Sagan 's broken loose! With little under 10 kilometer left to go, the sprinter decided to take his chances in an escape!
He's certainly gaining ground. Someone is coming there, it's the polka dot jersey, Stijn Van Gent !
Two sprinters in the attack, what a spectacle! We see another leap from the peloton, someone from Garmin - Sharp, it appears!
It's GC contender Wouters , with an attempt to gain time here! He's taken the two sprinters in his slipstream towards the finish! It's going fast, but the peloton isn't sitting back. With Sky leading, the deficit is now only 15 seconds!
It's almost certain that they'll reach the finish line now. Wouters is leading in the World Champion's final jump!
It's going incredibly fast as the two go into the final corner! The peloton started the sprint and is nearing! Wouters has been caught, but Sagan and Van Gent are still going strong!
Oh but the World Champion cracks in the final 20 meters, Sagan just flies over the finish line, another amazing victory for the punchy sprinter!
We see Oss coming in third, followed by Cavendish and Bouhanni .
Well, that certainly was an amazing finale. You just have to wonder what was going through Wouters' head, though. You wouldn't expect him until tomorrow, in the real hills. It seemed like such a desperate attempt.

We are here with race winner Peter Sagan. Peter, another victory, you seem on fire at the moment.
Peter Sagan: It's been a great Paris - Nice so far. I've been building up slowly this season, and I'll definitely be ready for my big goals!
Sagan's now preparing for the podium ceremony, while we get a hold of the man who came in second today, Van Gent. Tell us, at one point, Sagan attacked out of the peloton, you decided to follow.
Stijn Van Gent: I felt that I had to, yeah. Sagan is no ordinary sprinter, when he escapes, rarely you see him again. I didn't hesitate and just went after him.
But in the end you offered him the victory. Without you and your team leader, he wouldn't have carried all the way to the finish.
Stijn Van Gent: Well, you don't know that until after the race. We make decisions and in the end I finish second, which is a great result.
Okay, thank you! We're looking for Wouters to ask about his somewhat strange tactic, but we can't seem to locate him. It seems our time is up, we'll be back to you tomorrow, until then!

Today was a good day. But most important thing is that we're starting to lack the time to bring you our side of the story in the race. Today we just brought you Eurosport's version of the race, with some additional commentary of us here. Let us know if you think this is fine, or if you preferred the old system!
Thanks in advance,
Stijn & Willy

I think the commentating was way too accurate for Eurosport. They should've seen Dan Martin joining Sagan & Stijn or something.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

I like it. But too accurate and exciting. You know how boring the Irish guy is. Well at least I do

Ollfardh - That may be true
but do you prefer this or the old way?

Paris - Nice :: Stage 5
Stijn: Today I want to rest. I might get a top 10 with some luck, but I'll take it easy and try to do something tomorrow instead.
Willy: Let the fireworks begin!
brought to you by Eurosport
Welcome to Paris - Nice. We're in the fifth stage. The average speed of the first hour is 43kph, with constant forming of a breakaway and getting reeled back in.
We're more than 40 kilometers from the finish and we already see a big group dropping out, including Green Jersey Van Gent . Clearly he's not up to it today.
Back to the front, we see LokOil and Liquigas making the pace, respectively for Machado and Sagan without a doubt. We're waiting for the first attacks as the break has been reeled in.
And it's defending champion Wouters with the attack, and this will go a long way!
Going up and down, Sagan is forced to the chase!
An incredibly strong effort from Costa here, who finds Wouters and goes directly over him!
Wouters managed to hold on as the final sprint is off. We have no sign of Yellow Jersey Sagan so far!
Costa losing some speed and Wouters passes him! We also see Machado and Sagan in the back.
And what a beautiful victory from the Belgian. He takes another stage and looks well on his way to defending his Paris - Nice title.
Our time is up, we'll see you tomorrow!

A tough but satisfying day. Defending Yellow is top priority now, of course! Also note that Lou Smeets , Willy's trustee, has conquered the Young Jersey, well done!
We'll see you tomorrow,

Great win for Willy. Yay
And I like the new way of reporting, but as said, Eurosport is still too accurate

Just caught up again! I also suggest you should keep this story going until the new databases in PCM2013. Great story so far, stats of Slagter maybe?

Thanks for all the comments people! Internet's been down last 24h and I must say I had a great deal of work done. It's been months since I was able to work so good, because I had no internet and wasn't checking PCM Daily every 5 minutes. So I decided to spend less time here for the moment, got a big exam coming up and my task is due next week, lot of work!
Will upload next stage in a minute (had some time to race, though!), and then a drop in the pace, sorry!

Paris - Nice :: Stage 6
Stijn: One for the sprinters. Our team has a jersey to defend, though!
Willy: Wearing yellow is always amazing, but tough at the same time.
brought to you by Eurosport
All day long we've been looking at the same image: Garmin Sharp working hard controlling the breakaway.
Going over the final hill, it appears the peloton has ripped! Some riders have been surprised by the pace and have fallen behind!
We try to see who's caught behind. We see Costa, Machado . This is a disaster for them!
Yellow Jersey wearer Wouters is taking the lead now, obviously looking to keep his opponents at a distance, what a finale!
Farrar leading out the World Champion. We also see Cavendish nearby!
The World Champion is leading, Cavendish doesn't seem his usual self and is fading. Sagan is coming strong but it seems he can't pass Van Gent on the left!
Van Gent takes the win! Sagan is clearly angry, unable to sprint full speed there. Cavendish third, what a podium and yet again what a race.

Stijn: There was some discussion about the sprint but I just want to say I rode a perfect sprint. I stayed on my line, Sagan tried to overtake me on the left but there was no room, he should've taken the right, I did nothing wrong and the jury agrees!
Willy: Well, the jury ruled in Stijn's favor, but it's the opposite for me. Costa and Machado were clearly a lot behind but no time gaps were given, I can't believe this! I took a minute but don't get a second...
See you tomorrow!
Stijn & Willy
