Lost in all the focus on whether or not Armstrong is in yellow is the fact that Contador has now established a pretty sizable lead in the overall standings versus the main competitors and we aren't even in the mountains yet. |

It wasn't?
Now - how good was Armstrong on the 1st stage?
What rider jumped on the road to catch the break yesterday? |

Even not liking Armstrong and Cancellara being one of my favorite riders, I'm afraid I have to say that I think Armstrong deserved the yellow today. Astana was great (and I don't like Astana either).

So just because he jumped and got to the right break it's deserved? the hell with saxo bank! Lance deserved it.

I know there is anti-lance sentiment... but it would probably be good for cycling.
Lance brings more press... especially in the US where there is a lot of room for cycling to gain ground. I can't see how that's bad (unless he tests positive during the tour or during his comeback).
The comments in this thread aren't Anti-Lance, but more anti-press. Day for day, minute for minute, everything's about Lance. Now, with Lance maybe in yellow, this will go crazy.
But sure, it's a good thing in the US. But for us who care about more than just Armstrong, ... uh, it's going to be some tough days.
unfortunatley the coverage here is as bad as it gets with Astana/Lance bias with Ligget (or one of the others) openly saying before the stage he really hopes they can win today. Also, saying the team is obviously not split because Contador was pulling in the TTT. i am tempted at times to watch an online stream instead.

As am I
although its not as bad as the Universal guys, I heard one of them say that the reason Landis wasn't doing well in his comeback was because of a lack of confidence |

Lance did worse than Cancellara in the opening TT, and would be in yellow "just because he got to the right break" please explain to me intelligently (i know that may be asking too much from you) how Lance deserved it more
