Volta a Catalunya
Stage 4
A heck of a day today!
Christian Meier was on the early break
While Caisse D'Epargne and Scott dominated the bunch all day
As expected many attacks for the mountain classification...
and through the stage we found a hobbit house which means the shire is in Catalunya!!
In the last climbs Fran Pérez started to select the peloton...
while Andy Schleck was the first to launch an attack!!
and as the road started to raise Cobo and Jufré went after him!
Leon Sanchez attacked only close to the summit! where Kloden moved his feet as well
In the descent Cobo, Kloden, Sanchéz and Schleck managed to catch the remainings of the brekaway forming the leading group
At the final climb Sanchez got away and Schleck tried to grab a pace after him... Kloden was empty
Casar and Vandevelde(Astana) coming from behind managed to catch the german...who later was caught by the main pack...
At the front Schleck was chasing Sanchez. Vandevelde was gaining terrain while Casar was losing strength
In the last 5km the gradient gave Vandevelde wings as he passed A.Schleck!
Meanwhile Cobo was at the front again! The 4 of them were very close but the american was on a completely different pace!
At the beggining of the sprint he was already 1st while the peloton was right after... good news for Kloden!
Vandevelde confirmed the great victory. Sanchez was 2nd and Cobo 3rd
Kloden finished in the pack with no strength left! Probably 1 min lost to Vandevelde!!
Stage
1 Christian Vandevelde Astana Cycling Team 5h39'15
2 Luis León Sánchez Caisse d'Epargne + 11
3 Juanjo Cobo Scott - American Beef + 27
4 Andy Schleck Team CSC Saxo Bank + 48
5 Mauricio Soler Barloworld s.t.

9 Igor Antón Euskaltel - Euskadi s.t.
10 Óscar Pereiro Caisse d'Epargne s.t.
11 Denis Menchov Rabobank s.t.

18 Eladio Jiménez Cofidis, Le Crédit par Téléphone s.t.
19 Sandy Casar Française des Jeux s.t.
20 Oscar Sánchez Barloworld + 1'56
21 Andreas Klöden LA - MSS - Póvoa de Varzím s.t.

27 Andrei Sartasov Barloworld s.t.
28 Francisco Mancebo Contentpolis - Murcia s.t.
29 Oliver Zaugg Gerolsteiner s.t.
30 Matthew Lloyd Silence - Lotto s.t.
The peloton lost one min for Vandevelde but the judges wanted to mess up things again and so they invented cuts in the peloton which made Kloden lose 2min to the american...bastards...
GC

Volta a Catalunya
Stage 5
A mmountain ITT in Vallnord Alcalis the local where yesterday's stage ended
Etapa 6
Tiago Machado on portuguese colors was the first to set a reasonable time
But today's stage featured some heavy artillery! Kreuziger got the best time for a while!
Antón was faster the the czech but it wouldn't be a top mark...
LPR's leader, Leipheimer, registed a great time taking almost half a minute from the basque's time!! would it be the winner??
No it wouldn't! Menchov tore it apart right away taking half a minute from the american's time
Óscar Pereiro could have been a good bet for today... but his time was at Kreuziger's level
And now Kloden's time. The german wanted to excuse himself for the poor performance in the last stage. And he managed to do it!! His time was only neaten by the russian's one!
But Schleck was yet to come... nevertheless Frank's younger brother was a second late!
At last the leader Luis Leon Sanchez, despite not being a favourite, defended himself pretty well by achieving a 9th place losing only 13'' for Kloden!

it ends witha a small hill but I don't think you can win time there except if you are on the podium and you get the bonifications

yes it'll be difficult to get to the podium but I'm satisfied with a top5 which was the requirement from the sponsors

Volta a Catalunya
Stage 7
I'm sorry guys but I wasn't able to find out the SS from this stage... I probably deleted them with the Giro's ones...
The stage went so bad that it was like an agony to take the screenshots in the replay without knowing the differences made... and now I don't have them
There was a breakaway which arrived in front of the peloton in the last climb... some good climbers also jumped form the pack and finished the stage between the escapees!
As for Kloden... he tried to go in the first wave of attacks to gain some time on his rivals but he was soon caught and then he was never able to recover in a way that he could be able to attack again...
I leave you the classifications
Stage
Final GC
Nevertheless the amount of time lost by the german wasn't enough to take him out of the top 5 which enabled us to add the first 'check' to our season goals!!

MAY REPORT
This month was full of PT races, one of them being a GT. We ended up achieving a satisfactoru performance. Beggining with the Tour of Romandie and Di Luca's 3rd place where he displayed his good fitness. But he disapointed in the Giro... maybe lack of doping maybe lack of strength the italian lost 4 minutes that jeopardised all the work the team had done in order to achieve a podium for our sponsors. However 3 stage victories, almost half of the race in the green jersey and even some wearing pink enables us to consider this race participarion as a success!!
Last but no least we went to Volta a Catalunya. Our sponsors were really pleased with Kloden's top5 as they had demanded. but their congratulations' mail featured a proposal! They said they wouldnt mind spending more money in the riders boost. After reding it I imediately phoned a friend of mine from NASA (Dr. Bruce Banner) who had told me he could improve the riders' performance in a gamma-ray reaction!! Unfortunately this could make them green and monstruosly ugly as a side effect so the method is still in the making...
With 3 PT races this month there were major modifications in PT rankings:
Individual
Teams
Almost all went as well this month. I say almost because the actual crysis still punishes our team and our bank account is aproaching the zeros.... I guess it will be our staff who will suffer...
So see ya in June!

I guess this story won't go any further...
besides gathering one or two coments p/stage I believe my writing hasn't won many fans and so it seems logic to me to stop it as the interest isn't much...
I might leave the save game for someone if asked.

I don't usually comment on stories but I honestly love reading them. Especially one like this when you are challenging traditionally bigger teams right at the top. It's exciting, keep it up.

Guys just forget what I said last night...
Dauphiné Liberé 3rd stage really left me frustrated which led me to write things I didn't really mean...
you'll know what I'm talking about when I post it

A prologue to start with
Joost Posthuma established a quality time from the beggining
Cancellara himself wasn't even able to beat it!!
as well as Rogers who set the same time as the swyss!
Kreuziger finished 1'' away
But finally Popovych managed to take the lead!
Dekker did really well but Popovych was yet the leader...
until Pinotti arrival who took the stage to Columbia!
Still a word for Riccò who didn't look tired after the Giro and got to the 13th place

Stage 2
There was a breakaway...
...actually many because the peloton didn't wanna see our iders at the front...and they succeeded!
With less than 10km to the finish line the escapees were still in front o f the pack! Bert de Waele (QST) had a considerable advantage to Bert Grabsch (THR), Christophe Mengin(FDJ), Manuele Boaro(LIQ) and Massimiliano Mori(LAM)
But in thelast meters the belgian was caught as Boaro lost his chances. It was a 4-men fight now!
It was close but the winner was: Bert Grabsch!! After a disapointing TT the german kept the yellow jersey to his team
