1) As a Chicago native and lifelong Bears fan I can only say good riddance to Favre. I respect his play and would like to see him continue playing if it was another team but as a Bears fan I have two favorite teams: A) The Bears, 2) Whoever is playing against the Packers.
2) You guys are making me feel old. Can't believe nobody knows Tom Petty. I grew up listening to Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers and listened to his solo work in college. Anybody who knows the movie Jerry Maguire will remember the scene where Jerry has left his agency, went to visit the family of the college prodigy QB and got him to stay with Jerry as his agent. Tom Cruise so pumped in the car to the airport he is trying to find a song that matches his mood and finally comes across Tom Petty's "Free Fallin'" and blurts out singing along.
Broncos WR Marshall injures arm in bizarre accident
By Adam Schefter | NFL Network
In the most bizarre off-season injury to date, Broncos wide receiver Brandon Marshall said he slipped on a McDonalds bag and wound up with his arm wrapped in a cast.
Marshall said he was at the Westgate Lakes Resort in Orlando, Fla. on Saturday and slipped and fell on a McDonald's wrapper. When he slipped, he said he stuck out his hand to brace his fall and it went through a TV entertainment center.
His right arm now will be in a cast for two weeks. Marshall also received stitches in his arm, but he did not know how many.
What he did know was that he was embarrassed. One of the league's most physical players was toppled by a plastic bag.
"I want to thank everybody for their concerns and let everyone know that I'm okay," Marshall wrote in a text message Sunday morning. "It's funny because I pride myself on YAC (yards after catch) and being one of the toughest players to take down once I have the ball in my hands.
"So for the next couple of days I'm going to take the time to build my confidence back up after allowing that McDonalds bag to take me down and send me through the entertainment center."
Marshall is scheduled to fly from Orlando to Denver on Sunday and will be at the Broncos training complex tomorrow. But he will be, at best, limited for the start of the Broncos offseason conditioning program.

we had the first 2 rounds of the NFL draft yesterday, and like every year there were alot of surprises. But I was pretty dissapointed with the Seahawks, Lawrence Jackson is a nice defensive end but why the hell take John Carlson, the Tight End from Notre Dame in the 2nd round when Davis, who is much better...is still on the board?
Dwight K. Schrute: 'I'm not a hero. Im just a mere defender of the office. You know who is a hero? Hiro from Heroes. That's a hero. And Bono'.
Justin, in every draft there's one thing to remember:
in 5 years, looking back on it, someone who was crucified for making a certain pick will be heralded as a visionary hero and many who made the "safe" picks that everyone would make will be derided as idiots who made the wrong choice.

"I love him, I think he's great. He's transformed the sport in so many ways. Every person in cycling has benefitted from Lance Armstrong, perhaps not financially but in some sense" - Bradley Wiggins on Lance Armstrong
but still I think the Seahawks would have done better in getting a quick Tight End who can help them with the passing game, Carlson is more of a blocker and not a big time offensive weapon but ofcourse I hope he can prove that I'm wrong and do well. And Al Davis...he already has alot of runningbacks and then he takes the best player available which is McFadden, another runningback. The guy has made so many bad picks over the past few years that he just decided to take a safe pick. Gholston, the defensive end would have been a much better pick for Oakland.
Dwight K. Schrute: 'I'm not a hero. Im just a mere defender of the office. You know who is a hero? Hiro from Heroes. That's a hero. And Bono'.
Yep, just look at the previous first picks over the last few years - about 50% have done well, the other 50% have done nothing, so nothing is ever certain
indeed and dont forget that some teams may draft players in the 5 or 6th round who will become pro-bowlers in a few years? Latest example is Marques Colston who New Orleans drafted in the 7th round 2 years ago and now he is one of the best receivers in the NFC.
However Tennessee really fvcked up, they really really really desperately needed a receiver, and yet they draft another fast runningback in the first round from another forum
Dear Vince Young,
We hate you. We will never give you a good receiver. We will surround you with crap like Justin McCareins and Eric Moulds. We want you to fail. We will salt your wounds and burn your lands. Death to the Philistines!
Sincerely,
Titans Front Office (Pick Grade: F)

Having Chris Johnson who is the fastest running back and one of the best running backs will take pressure off Vince Young. And They picked up one of the best Tight ends and have a top O-Line. I think they are gonna be pretty set next year. And remember there are still 5 rounds left. Some top players come out of those rounds.
I say that the Chiefs had the best draft, but I am not dissapointed in my hometown team, the Redskins, we traded down and got a lot of good players because of it.
Chiefs did very well, also the Redskins who got the best receiver in the draft in the 2nd round! (I have no clue why the Rams took Avery)
@Matt, but they already got Chris Henry...he was the fastest runningback last year and whats the point in taking pressure of Young when he still has no one to throw it too. Someone did say that Johnson was a receiver in high school but still when ur Tennessee, and all the receivers are still on the board, you have to take the best one which would have been Thomas. Two picks that also surprised me was Detroit picking LB Dizon in the 2nd round (With Dan Connor still on the board), but then again its Detroit ur talking about. And also Cincinatti taking WR Jerome Simpson when Sweed, Hardy and Kelly were still on the board...
Also what do u guys think of the QB's, I'm not really that high on Matt Ryan and I think that Flacco is also a bit of a risk since he didnt play in the strongest conference with Delaware.
Dwight K. Schrute: 'I'm not a hero. Im just a mere defender of the office. You know who is a hero? Hiro from Heroes. That's a hero. And Bono'.
I think that the QB's went where they should have, if you watched Flacco (for a guy in Holland, I have to doubt it) he has the best poise of any QB in either college or the NFL, other than Brady or Manning, his arm in a monster, and he is possibly the smartest passer with the ball. I think that he will be a more succesful QB that Matt Ryan in the future. Plus he is perfect in Baltimore.

Flacco had a tough schedule. He played well against the best team in the nation. Appalachain State.
And not to mention that the best WR of all time came out of Dvision 1-AA. Jerry Rice.

HOW CAN YOU FAIL TO MENTION BRADY!!!
I said 'the latest example' ofcourse Brady is another example, and obviously the most famous example
and about Flacco, I only saw him at the combine and he looked good, I also think Ryan is being hyped to much especially by Mike Mayock who thinks he's the next Peyton Manning. But I do wonder why Baltimore first traded down and then up again for Flacco...who else would have taken him if they stayed where they were?

They traded down because they didn't want to waste a high 1st round pick on Flacco and when he was still there at around 18 they didn't want to risk waiting for him. They actually got a good deal out of it. Ryan is actually a great QB. he led a average team to great results.
