Symptomatic for Gueraos race to abandon in the end. Ratiy was slightly below par in the final week, but not much. Same goes for Caruso.
Overall a bad race for us, so instead I will use the post to congratulate those who had a good race.

First of all big thanks SN for your effort to provide both GTs!! I remember from my story writing time (oh my..how many years ago??), keeping motivation on high level, when only few replies appeared after each stage, is very very difficult. THANK YOU!!!
I must admit I still can´t get, how such one-way rider with below average support stats can win GT However, Alarcon winning last stage was stylish, big congratz to Smowz!
I want also congratulate to other succesfull managers, e.g. ember, Heine and myself
Last but not least I´m very curious how PT ranking has developed.

Somewhat disappointing race with Valverde losing a lot of stupid time in the beginning of the race, Kennaugh abandoning and my riders failing to deliver despite being in nearly all the breakaways.
I liked the fight in the end from Valverde to get back in top-10, but a little disappointing to miss out anyhow. |

Wow, Nazir Jaser made it in the time limit to the end!
I am really, really hapy with this Vuelta, 7th place overall, a stage win for Vysna, a couple of stage podiums from Howard, many top 10 stage finishes from him and Rujano as well. Happy, happy.
Big thanks to SN for great reports and big congrats to all succesfull managers, especially to Smowz and beagle! Alarcon a GT win and Mohs a dominating GT sprinter. I really would not have expect this before this season. Some risky decisions just paid off!

It wasn't looking like I was going to get anything from this race other than finishing points, and that was grudgingly achieved by the team.
Great work by Faiers, Cattaneo and Costagli to cock up some Team GC points, Top 15, and Top 30 GC chances. I know it's not much, but it was all I was looking for after about 10 stages.
Guess it's payback for having such a strong Giro. Just hope the Tour turns out a little better.

Well that was certainly not the podium I would have picked before the race. Congratulations all.
This was not as bad as it should have been but it was far from good. Oh well I knew this would be the worst of my 3 GTs.
Thanks SN.

Didn't expect anything really, so getting 2 stage wins and the climbers jersey was really great! It has been an interesting race to watch aswell, well done SN!
I never expected Mohs to be able to win a points jersey, specially with his former track record in GTs, as a German team I really like this, Now I can just hope that Zabel can do the same some time in the future.
Congrats to Smowz and Alarcon, I thought his backup stats would haunt him, but he has really done a great race with limited support.

And we're back into the top 10 of GTs.
Stage win, some other good stace placings, top 10 in the GC and 5th in the teams classification. This is probably going to be our best GT of the year.
Thanks for the great amount of work you put into the reports, SN!

Really pleased with this race. Guldhammer gets a Danish Grand Tour Top 10. That's big for my team! Stage win for Arndt aswell. That's huge for my young rider. Overall really really good.
And the reports were great aswell! Good job SN!

It didn't turn out to be the season-saving race I'd hoped, but still pretty good and by far our single best result this year. Machado was pretty solid, throughout the whole race, but I think he could have taken Alarcon's spot as the race-animator, which in the end proved to be the best approach to this particular GT. Also finishing just outside the podium, missing our season podium goal here is heartbreaking, but so is cycling and also the Man-Game. We've also had Avelino's victory, an oasis in the Pokerstars desert.
Overall this was a brilliant race, masterfully reported, and with a surprise winner, which we can all agree deserved, better than anyone else, to take the highest step of the podium.
Congratulation Smowz, and thank you so much SN!

Excellent Vuelta (well, not for Bouygues), but thanks SN, very much enjoyed following it!

A top 10 and a stage win was probably fair enough. Not that exciting a race from our point of view but very well-reported SN, thanks.

And the updated standings:
Pokerstars have managed to push their usual strong first half of the season through to the Vuelta and now open up a lead of nearly 800 points. Defending champions Wikipedia have moved clear in 3rd, and close in on 2nd place.
Simply Red Bull and Aker-MOT both climb up healthily to join the upper end of the tight 5th-12th battle. The next really close fight is from 13th down to 20th. B&O moved up a few positions but despite top-scoring Santander could only gain 1 spot and remain in the relegation zone along with Swisscom and Bpost. Things aren't looking so great for Prio and ING.

If that doesn't include Appia Antica, then I'm still in with a chance of pulling off a miracle escape.
Pokerstars are destroying this!

I can only say it again and again (before somebody will come and try to say it is bullshit, hey Manx and Tsmoha) , but in PCM 13 it does not matter which support stats you have, bar one and that is acceleration. Alarcon has 79 ACC and likes of Contador, Machado or Nibali does not stand a chance with such a gap in ACC. Even more Tenorio with 64! You wonder why Tenorio is weaker in GT? Well, he lacks acceleration.
Anyway, big congrats to Red Bull and Jose, it was a marvellous victory, that will become legendary. Also congrats to you Beagle, for awesome stuff in this Vuelta.
SN, hats off for doing 2nd GT in the row, awesomne reports, it was enjoyable read with every stage. Thanks

Obviously ing and prio are in big trouble. It is make or break for them already in June with their big stage racers in action at the Dauphine and Suisse. But they are going against other big guns from Vesuvio, 1t4i and Festina's in particular.
Santander have one race, the Tour de France to save their season. Two GTs down and two third places will not be good enough. they get very little from races outside the long stage races and Tenorio is not actually good enough to dominate outside Spain (not that he did at the Vuelta)
Hard to see who will be the fourth team favoured to go down, luck with flukes and breakaway wins may well play a part, much as it could further up the table. that is quite the gap Pokerstars have, it will be reduced but the closest teams such as Good Energy do not have big stage racers which can score huge in June july.
I am delighted with SRBs position, we really are relying on Coppels chronos in the next couple of months.

This is not good.
A slowly go down the rankings. Only a few GM points for a top15 but no single stage result is too less.
This way VW with a nice Vuelta go past me.
With Appia Antica though I should be above Vueling/VW again. But I will need some points in Suisse/Catalunya and actually in every single race from now to score a consistent bit to leave 5 teams behind me. |

674 points from Contador's Vuelta was more than I expected, which is very pleasant. It's great that we finally are among the better teams in a race where the points at offer are big. It's definitely some much needed points before June and Tour de France, as in the latter our team is probably a candidate for the top 10 list of worst point performances in the MG history.
Pokerstars scoring more than 1000 points is pretty sensational, and it must raise their hopes thinking of an overall podium at the end of the season. After all, they've only got one GT left to survive.
Thanks for the update, SN! |

A good points haul for us These points will be important for us in the relegation battle. If Monsalve can do something of the same in TDF I will be overjoyed
