Wait, you can go over your budget? That means I could theoritcally bid for 9000, although I only have 7500? Don't really like that at all since it rocketeers the bidding already in the first round into heights.

Although, if people buy all those riders then they lose the most expensive one

Oh I am sorry I wanted to limit how much you can go over the budget not make it higher and give someone an advantage. In post #208 I actually said that you could go over the limit.. Now someone has sent in a file and bid 21000, that's why I wanted to limit the money you can bid not give you more..
Sorry that's all a little chaotic and the rules aren't clear, but it's the first time I do something like this, I hope you understand.

No problem, in my opinion a cap is a cap. If people would get all the rider they want (unlikely as that may be), there's a problem, so it would be better to stick with the budget as it is
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

No problem, and it's certainyl not your fault. However 21000 is just plain audacious since it means the person (can) outbid anybody on any rider, and then simply choose and release their riders in the next round (since you can also transfer your riders to other teams).
It's like a poor person outbidding everybody at an auction and then not willing to pay the requested amounts. I don't think that's the point of an auction since it eliminates basically the principal risk of missing out on your riders. I myself have dropped for example many domestiques because I wanted to have a shot at top-riders.
For me the rules were actually quite clear. I must have overread/forgot the post where you said, you can temporarily go over the budget though.
1. Don't go over your budget! If you do so, one of your riders will be replaced by a worse or removed.

I agree with shonak. We must fit to the limit budget. |

Sorry but I must stick with my words and I clearly said that it is possible to go over the budget with your bids. If you are over the budget after signing the riders then you would have a problem.

That quote implies that you need to have riders to be over the budget and while the process of bidding is on you don't have any. Only after round 1 you have them and you can't be over it after that, so if any of the teams that bid more than their budget signs to many of the riders they bid for, they will get punished!

Not that soon I need to get six more files:
ANZ Racing Team
Cycleman was sick and will send in the file asap.
PetroChina
I have pm'ed Maddox but although he is active on the forum, I got no reply from him.
Spanair - Euskadi
Don't know about emre. I have pm'ed him because of transfers and the calendar voting he replied with the voting for the WT calendar, so I guess I will have his transfers soon.
Bank Mandiri Cycling
The Hobbit had limited time and will send the transfers in asap.
Fiskars Cycling
For Atlantius it's the same as for Maddox.
Team Cymru Wales
I know sutty was working on the file as he asked me questions on that via pm, so I guess I will get his transfers soon!
For the WT calendar voting I only need Cycleman's and Maddox' votes, they haven't send them in for the same reasons as they haven't send their transfers in... |

What is unfair is that you could just do a whole bunch of bids and you automaticaly get the ones no one else bid on and just ignore the rest. I would add a maximum number of vids as well if we continue like this.
Another thing is that you also need to look at the minimum amount of riders. Someone can have 200 budget left, but if he needs 6 more riders, he needs to lose some riders as well.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Only one had more than 30 bids (60), I told him to make less bids he has 30 now. I think with a maximum of 120% of the budget you can't make bids on to many riders. Theoretically you can but I doubt someone is highly interested in 50 riders with average 68.

That's what the box that can turn orange is for. If you have less than 150 for the any rider you still have to sign then it turns orange, meaning you should take care of that you don't bid to much. It is obvious that you need to make a good enough transfer planning to not sign to many riders with a two high wage.
But just to prevent these things from happening I'll add this to the rules, noone would have violated that so far:
1. There is a team maximum, You can't bid for more riders than that. For WT teams the maximum is 30, CT teams 25 and U25 teams can't have more than 10 riders.
2 If you bid on less riders than you need to have at least, the maximum money you can use for the bidding decreases. For each rider less than your minimum amount of riders you bid for the allowed maximum of 120% of the budget gets reduced by 150. |
