Any advice on which watch should i get? I have 150e-200e budget. I want something classy, but still modern (something like this or this). |

Yes RIP Pete.
Strangely he was even in my dream last night before I woke up and head the news, not too strange though as I have been listening to him pretty much every day for the last 4 months. |

After a long break (2 years almost, actually), I decided to pick up writing again! I used to write screenplays before, have about 8 scripts from that time. But now I decided to go back to my roots and try to write a book
Real excited about it. Have a great idea already. The only problem is finding enough time to put into it. |

Good luck with that. In my experience, time isn't so much a problem once you have a topic, characters and such that you are really passionate about. When you know where you're going, the journey there will be fun... or whatever. Correcting the whole damn stuff isn't so much fun unfortunately though.

Yeah but correcting it is a good moment to re-read for any possible story/character mistakes anyway
I'm just doubting whether to write it in Dutch, my strongest language, or try to do it in English. It's kind of fantasy and seems suited best for English, but I might not be strong enough in English to pull it off
I wrote my screenplays in English, but that's something else. That's only dialogue and descriptions/actions.

Thought that said Pate and almost had a heart attack.
Anyway, Ian, maybe you should turn one of your stories into a play

Nah, correcting is just like... meh... I really can't be bothered too much with it. I should do it more though and work faster on it. Otherwise, I will never stand a chance to get it published.
Your english is very good I think, but when you write your first novel I think it should be in your own language. After all, if you want to get it published, it must be the best possible work you can make at the moment. That is only possible with the language you feel the best. Writing a book in another language just naturally prevents that I think (although many lines may sound way cooler in english than in your mother tongue).
In regards of sales: The english market is of course way bigger than the dutch, but it will be tougher to get actually noticed I imagine. If you have made it and established yourself in your homemarket, I think there's enough time to conquer the world market (for example, by writing in english or providing lots of translations).

True. However it isn't my first novel. I wrote a 100 page novel in Dutch before, and half a novel in English (which halfway I decided to make into a screenplay instead of a book)
Valid points, though. Well, at least I have time to think it through. You only start writing the book when it's already finished in your head, so I've got time |

I meant like a published debut novel (I don't know if it was?). I'd love to steal... erm, I mean read the screenplay one day.

No it's not published. Never bothered actually
Yeah I still consider my first screenplay my best, because it's a mafia story |

Sounds pretty cool Ian and best of luck.
I remember writing the first couple of chapters to a book when i was 15-16. Totally different challenge to writing a script or a screenplay. Was really fun though and i really got into the story and stuff and only ended up stopping because of school work and a relationship. Still got some of it on my laptop even now! Re-read it today and it holds up, mostly.
I actually submitted bits of it to various school level competitions and bagged a couple of commendations (not wins but acknowledgments of them being really really good).
Personally i prefer writing short stories, things that are only a couple of A4 pages long. I can just write the exciting or good bits of a story without need to pad or explain, or even write a proper conclusion!
More recently i have been doing some more sort of script/screenplay style stuff. Some friends and i have been messing around with making Machinima which i do all the writing for (and directing and editing... basically they play games and i do the work). Nothing i'd publish or publicly share but i like it. Might release or share my current script for an advert project.
