Also, doping is in every sport. Probably even more in tennis and football than in cycling, since there's less or no testing.
Impact of doping in performance of an actual game of football is way much smaller than in cycling.
Yeah, bigger engine for 90 minutes is cleary not important in modern football. Oh wait!
And that Barcelona joke? I am still laughing.

What is the difference whether the team is officially Danish or Russian?

It increases the length of Oleg Tinkov's penis by 1 cm.

It means I can no longer write "the Danish team" in my articles. "Bjarne Riis' former team" doesn't quite have the same ring to it |

Yes, but using products to enhance their muscle building to improve strength is a pretty big advantage to, for example, defenders...
Okay, but look at Barcelona (not saying they aren't using some shit), their success is based on one thing and one thing only: ball goes faster than human. Their style of play needs no endurance or physical strength, just team chemistry, movement without the ball and passing technique.
"Ball goes faster than human", "movement without the ball" and "needs no endurance". Three sentences that mixes like oil and water.
I'm sorry for sounding rude or anything, but have you ever played football? Endurance is a hell of an important asset, regardless of playing style. Barcelonas' style is all about short bursts of speed, something which is incedibly tiring in the long run.

Everyone who's listened to Platini knows it's just because the cameras are positioned differently in Spain that they seem to play faster.

"Project Anvignon", dun dun dun...
Or as CyclingNews dubbed it, akin to when the English First Division transformed in to the English Premier League.

Interesting that Katusha isn't involved. I can't see something like this working without someone as influential as Makarov on board with it.

I thought this picture would be interesting to show :
If you're absolutely clueless, this is Nairo Quintana in 2013 and in 2014. The Pinarello bike is 2013's, you can guess which year the Canyon is from.
So, besides nice bikes, what does it show or say ?
In short that, if he feels comfortable with the position, Quintana will perform very well in ITT this season. We already got a glimpse of that in San Luis.
Why ? Much better position. To say more : draw a line from his pelvis to the crankset axis : he's much more advanced this year. There are rules for the saddle advancement regarding the crankset axis, but the more to the front you are, the more you're able to use your quadriceps, which are the most powerful muscles of the human body.
Second is his hands, or rather his forearm position, relative to his front wheel. He's much lower this year. As he's the same size as last year (!), it means a significantly reduced frontal surface.
The only question mark for me here is 'will he be able to cope with that position for longer efforts ?'. If yes, he's going to be much closer than before.

I'm a noob on that topic, but could it be possible that the one picture is made right when he slipped to the front of the saddle and the other one right after he changed his position back again?
That would slightly negate the progress you described.
I mean I saw last season that even the top TTers slide forward a lot and have to react to reach the desired saddle position again.

Yes, it's possible, and I'd also add that he shot angle is not exactly the same, which exaggerates the wheel/forearms distance evolution.
But, given the ITT he's already done in the Tour of San Luis, and before we get to see more, it does seem he has progressed in that area. |

You can't rely on it 100%, and for his position on the saddle you are correct. (though Martin doesn't slide forward), but his position qua height and his saddle is much better now |

Maybe it's the angle of the photo but in the second pic the seat angle doesn't look like it's in compliance with regulations.
