Our break establishes with quite easy today, although the merge only happens at a gap of 5 minutes. Our 7 escapees are Arango (Colombia), Squire (Amore&Vita), Joep, Pasqualon (Bardiani), Gatto (Vini Fantini), Klimiankou (Atlas) and Fajt (Adria).


The break takes it pretty easy and saves energy for the mountains instead of spending it on sprints. The pack lead is now taken over by Nippo, Colombia and Katusha.


The pack doesn't seem to like the break and works hard.


While Joep wins the moutain sprint, we have some attacks in the pack. Purito, Cunego and Atapuma are gone!


With 10 km to go Joep is all alone, but the escapees, including riders like Nerz and Van Garderen are coming close.


2.5 kms later Purito catches the brave Dutchman. Joep doesn't stand a chance.


With 5kms to go we have the following situation: 1. Purito 2. Van Garderen 3. Joep. Then we have the pack.


Joep is totally broken today and gets caught by the pack.


Meanwhile in front Purito is flying as he almost gets his second stage win.


And he takes it!

At sprint 1 we have had many attacks, but no break that is in front. Therefore, the sprinters give it a go. Kristian turns out the fastest here.


Now we finally get a break: Schiewer, Hamelink, Silva and Bertling are the 4 riders.


The break takes it easy and doesn't contest the 2nd intersprint. The 3rd is contested and won by Bertling.


The lead slowly but surely decreases. This happens until 4 kms from the line, when the break is reeled in. Since our train is massively disturbed today, we decide to have Simon attack.


With 500 meters to go Simon still has a gap, but the sprinters are approaching.

Simon wins! The rest came very close though!

@All: It was a fantastic victory indeed!

Peter, under the support of the crowd, became our best rider today. 19th was his result.

At sprint 1 we have a small group about to be reeled in, no sprint at all there. Eventually we do get a break of 6 riders. None are dangerous in the GC.


They don't aim for sprints, but hope to make it to the end today. The pack doesn't seem willing to let that happen though.


At the final intermediate sprint, 22kms from the line, the gap is 1min13. Things might end up close.


With just under 5kms to go, the riders try to break from the pack. The sprint trains are setting up though.


With 1 km to go final escapee Amado is reeled in. A chaotic sprint starts in the pack.
