I agree, but I think Sagan is favorite with all the time bonuses he will pick up on flat days.

The second stage of the Tour of Oman is considered flat, but has a cat 3 hill that tops out with 3 km to go. The win should come from a little group that gets away on the last climb. Stybar will go for the attack, and I will follow Sagan over the closing kilometers.
The Race
With 20 km to go, there are three riders at the front. They are: Der of Utensilnord, Sieberg of Lotto, and Dekker of Garmin. They lead by 45 seconds.
The trio are caught with 12 km to go, and Stybar attacks with Thomas at the sprint point, and there is no reaction from the peloton.
With 5 km to go, Stybar has a 35 second lead over the Omega-led bunch.
With 4 km to go, Frank Schleck puts in a huge move, and Sagan and I follow. We fly away from the peloton, and at the top of the climb Stybar's gap is only 15 seconds. Can he hold on?
What a win for Stybar! Beautiful solo attack and he held off Sagan by a small margin. Schleck takes third, and I take fourth. For some reason, the officials gave almost all the riders the same time, despite a good 45 seconds passing between Stybar, and 5th place Kwiatkowski crossing the line.

Post Race Comments- Great ride form Stybar today, that is 8 seconds Sagan won't have come Green Mountain. I admit disappointment that we weren't given a gap over the peloton, and it was a wasted effort from me today. Tomorrow is a flat day with no categorized climbs. I will take it easy.

The fourth stage of the Tour of Oman is a flat stage that ends with an uphill finish. The winds are back and I will remain at the front all day, and I will test my punch on the uphill finish. I hope to get a top 10 today.
The Race
The break went away and were caught with 18 km to go. With 1 km to go, Cavendish is leading and Sagan is nowhere to be found as the gradient turns up. As the Manxman gone too early?
No he hasn't as Cavendish takes his first win of the season! Sagan takes second after coming from way behind. Coquard takes third, and I take eight on the stage.

Post Race Comments- I'm definitely satisfied with my finish, it is something I've been working on in training camp. I hope it can lead me to some wins in group sprints later in the year. Tomorrow is the queen stage with a summit finish at Green Mountain. It would be great to take the leader's jersey.

How unfortunate the official didn't count time on stage 3
It is still looking good with 2 riders very well placed and a sweet victory for Zdenek. Can you get the official to sneek in an off road stage ?
I still believe in Ian for the overall. Sagan is so overated

This is the queen stage of the race, highlighted by the finish on Green Mountain. I need to dislodge Sagan to take over the lead. I hope to do so.
The Race
We jump to the foot of the mountain, Travis Meyer is at the front of the race by 45 seconds as the gradient flies upward.
With 5 km to go, it is down to a 16 man group at the front. The only big names gone are Basso and Andy Schleck.
With 3.5 km to go, Pardilla pulls off the front, and I give it full gas. Nobody can respond as I fly away from the others.
With 1.5 km to go I'm leading Acevedo of Garmin by 20 seconds. It is another 30 seconds back to the group of Sagan.
I back a beautiful first win of the season! Acevedo comes in 50 seconds back for second. Sagan is 12th 2 16 back.

Man, that's one desert-y mountain. Great win by Ian. The GC lead looks good enough, so there shouldn't be much hassle about the overall stage race win, I suppose.
I did some reading up, and I really liked the twist with Sky. I think he has chosen with MTN quite a good team for his future development.

Today's stage is day of 2 that should have any impact on the GC. All the three climbs are hard, and it will be a tough day. I will defend my jersey.
The Race
At the top of the first of three climbs, the break of five is 7 minutes ahead of the bunch. The riders are: Sulzberger of Drapac, Bisolti of Vini Fantini, Armme of Lotto, Degand of Wanty, and Masciarelli of Utensilnord.
As soon as the peloton hit the second climb, Sagan rode away from the bunch. Acevedo quickly followed, and Thomas went to the front to set the pace. Thomas and I soon rode away from the others, and went in search of Sagan and Acevedo.
At the foot of the last climb, Acevedo is 50 seconds ahead of the group containing me, Stybar, and Kwiatkowski. Sagan is another minute ahead, and you have to go 2 more minutes up the road to find the breakaway.
With 2 km to climb, I caught Acevedo, and in doing so pretty much sealed the GC win. However, I wanted to see if I could catch Sagan, and I soon left the Colombian.
With 3 km to go, Armee has left his companions, and has 20 seconds on them. Behind, I managed to catch up to Sagan in the descent of the climb.
With 1 km to go, Sulzberger has caught Armee, and the stage will go to one of them.
The Australian takes the stage! Bisolti takes second, and Armee fades to third. 1 34 later, Sagan comes across the line with me right behind him for sixth and seventh place.

Post Race Comments- I think I showed today how much I have improved since last year. I was like 25th in Tirreno last year, and now I will be challenging for the win in the WT race. I not be reporting tomorrow's pan-flat stage unless something drastic happens. If all goes according to plan, my next report will be the first stage of Tirreno.
