But I think those max stats are a bit too high, considering we're a CT team and will develop really hard.
Also, I think it tends to make the riders a bit too similar. Every rider is also different, early-bloomers/late-bloomer, big talents or domestiques.
But that's just my opinion

Well I intended for riders to be fairly similar, let our building of stats when we start to get better determine the difference.

I'm interested in whether the riders in the continental teams will benefit from any extra ways to develop or not. If they don't won't they be left behind by the riders in the team very quickly? |

CT riders still benefit, the focus will just be on Team U25's riders specifically. Also, next season, Team U25 may try to reach them for development.

I just started with a simple rule of max stat per age.
23->72
22->71
21->70
20->69
19->68
18->67
17->66
I wouldn't give specific values but more of a scaling system
For example: 23yo (and there is only 1!!! my guy, so how he is not currently the best is beyond me...) 2pts better than 22yo. 22yo 2pts better than 21yo. 21yo 2pts better than 20yo etc...
Or link each rider with a real life rider , and just copy the stats with a few adjustments to the specific traits of the custom rider (eg. Hinault could be paired with Boswell. But then reduce FL, TT and PRL and boost FTR, DH and STA/RES by the same total value.

Team Training
This afternoon, the 20 riders of Team U25(and the other 8 participants here) embarked out to U25's private training roads west of Tollare, France, and began basic training! Today we began with basic flats training, and no pace was demanded from Hashir and the other Directors.
The team starts out
Early on, there was just some nice discussion, and nobody pushed each other to go faster. This is, after all, an early pre-season ride. Then, two riders decided to break off and push themselves a little bit.
Peyton Scogin takes shelter behind Jens Vyncke
The break was caught later on, and the pace was pushed to about 60% effort, as not to strain anyone. As the road stayed mostly flat, nobody bothered to try harder. Then, some of the guys decided to push the pace just a little, and led them in to the closing kilometres.
The pace increases and the team sees the finish
Of course, nobody could bother to stay in the saddle for the first day. And so the sprint wound up and went, very quickly I may add. Out in the lead was Pye and Bauer of course, Bakker right up among the lead as well.
Pye leads the sprint
As it seems our audience is out in force(why ever they are at training), they got to see Pye dominating the rest and taking victory from the little competition.
Pye celebrates in the distance

Can't find them in the first post...
+1, Found Russo in another create-your-rider thread as a 18y San Marino Fighter
Russo is actually a 19 year old San Marinese Puncher with a strong kick who has a strong enough TT that he would be useful in a TTT but wouldn't be that good at an individual one and would end up as a major contender in the Ardennes and a leader at 1 week tours.

Too many over 70s. And also, the team loses its sprinting if the sprint stats are lowered that far. By the way, is Scogin supposed to have 48 in his one stat?

No, that should be a 58. Small typo I guess.

Not going to do specific stats, as i like the idea of us not having the ability to make them ourselves. But here is how it should break down in terms of strength.
Thomas Hinault - Strongest rider on the team. And that means not just a good MO stat, but decent HL (comparable with 20yo's) and good support stats (best STA, RES and REC on the team). No stat above 75
Pieter de Vreis - Second strongest rider, best Classics rider. Best FL and CB. SP comparable with 19yo's, if not little bit better. Similar STA and RES to Hinault. No stat above 73
Peyton Scogin and Erik Larsson - Next best. 2-3MO less than Hinault. 3+ worse STA, RES and REC. No stat above 71
Zolderman, Betancur, Kerso, Russo, Kanza and Watchin - Next best. Climbers 2-3MO less than Peyton, 3+ worse STA, RES and REC. Betancur 3+ worse MO, but best TT of all climbers. 3+ worse STA and RES. But comparable REC with Peyton. Kanza 3+ worse FL, CB, RES, STA than Pieter. Somki 1-2 FL worse but RES and ACC comparable. Kerso similar FL to Kanza. Best SP so far, ACC similar to Somki. No stat above 70, and only 2or3 at 69-70
Bauer, Scott, Pye, Krisa and Oget - You should be getting the idea by now. These are U20 so could take another -1 on all stats. No stat above 68, and only 2or3 at 67-68.
Vyncke, Kelders, Bakker, Saint Ledger, Fischer, Johansson, Mujagic and Pinoy - Can take another -1or2 on all stats. No stat above 65, and only 2or3 at 64-65
Perry and O'Malley - Can take another -3or4 on all stats. No stat above 62, and only 2or3 at 61-62.
PLUS: All non U25 team members can then take +1-2 to cover for time without bonus development system (which they obviously cannot get elsewhere, otherwise why would anyone not join a real team) but no more than 1-2!
And yes he's my rider but Hinault can then take +1-2 on all stats to cover the fact he will have to leave the team after the second season.
Finally, everyone 21+ (maybe 20 if you want) can specify one non-specialty stat (ie a climber cannot specify MO or HL) to take a boost. For example Hinault would request DH, which would then take a boost to maximum for his age (which is 75). Pieter could say PRL which would then go to 73.

TRAINING REPORT
Morning
3 ascents of Grand Ouest today, a 41km climb that demands every last drop of energy the riders have. So then, this morning's ascent went well, and almost everyone managed to stay under 2 hours. Individual reports below.
Bakker
Target: 1h57'00"
TIME: 1h55'02"
Performance: ****
Bakker did a very good job today. We hope to see his climbing abilities improve even further in the future, but sprinting should remain his focus.
Bakker approaches the top
Bakker at the line
Bauer
Target: 1h56'30"
TIME: 1h57'11"
Performance: **
Bauer did not properly handle the morning ascent. We expected better, but he did fine.
Bauer climbs the summit
Bauer hangs his head in disappointment
Bennett
Target: 1h55'00"
TIME: 1h58'31"
Performance: *
Bennett downright took it easy today! The management staff is understandably upset with him, and expect much more!
Bennett ascends
Berg
Target: 1h57'00"
TIME: 1h57'02"
Performance: ***
Berg almost met his morning goal, but couldn't end it with enough power. This afternoon, he should do it just fine.
Berg through a tunnel
Berg exhausted at the top
Betancur
Target: 1h55'00"
TIME: 1h54'30"
Performance: ****
Betancur beat his goal time in proper order, and has a new target.
Betancur keeping a high pace
De Vries
Target: 1h57'30"
TIME: 1h57'23"
Performance: ***
De Vries beat his goal and properly performed. The directors are pleased with him.
De Fries goes up, and up, and up
Fischer
Target: 1h56'45"
TIME: 1h57'34"
Performance: **
Fischer was ascending well early on, but failed to keep that later on. Fischer needs to improve his long-distance climbing.
Fischer on some crazy steep slopes
Hinault
Target: 1h54'00"
TIME: 1h56'11"
Performance: *
Hinault did awful on his own. Apparently he needs assistance to climb, even though he has plenty of skill on his own. Only time will tell the truth.
Hinault and the slopes below
Hinault goes in slow motion?
Johansson
Target: 1h56'15"
TIME: 1h57'06"
Performance: **
Though Johansson seemed serious, his legs were not up to todays task. Next ascent, he hopes to improve greatly.
Johansson keeps climbing
Kanza
Target: 1h57'15"
TIME: 1h57'34"
Performance: ***
Kanza barely missed his goal time for the end of the morning run. Sadly, he was incapable of beating the time he wanted too.
Kanza ascends on a TT bike
A disappointing ride for Kanza
Kelders
Target: 1h56'00"
TIME: 1h54'32"
Performance: *****
Kelders ran an amazing run up the mountain this morning. He actually managed to pass a man and stay ahead!
Kelders powers away
A fabulous ride for Kelders!
Kerso
Target: 1h57'45"
TIME: 1h56'47
Performance: ****
Kerso surprised everyone with an amazing ride! He challenged some of the mountaineers, and pulled out a fast time!
Kerso goes up
Kerso pulls off a fast time!
Krisa
Target: 1h57'00"
TIME: 1h59'54"
Performance: *
Krisa had a very, very slow ride this morning. He struggled every time the road went over 8%, and even below did poorly.
Krisa struggles along
Larsen
Target: 1h56'00"
TIME: 1h56'54"
Performance: **
Larsen has never been particularly great, but today was no exception. A slowish ride results in a slowish time.
Larsen ascends to heaven
Mujagic
Target: 1h55'00"
TIME: 1h56'43"
Performance: *
Mujagic ran waaaaay behind schedule. And of course the directors disapprove.
Mujagic lumbers up the climb
Mujagic ends his run
Oget
Target: 1h56'45"
TIME: 1h58'40"
Performance: *
Oget could not perform well today, as he was suffering a mild allergy flare.
Oget climbs...
O'Malley'
Target: 1h56'45"
TIME: 1h57'50"
Performance: **
Did well early on, but faded as time passed.
O'Malley shines on the mid slopes
There's the line!
Pery
Target: 1h58'00"
TIME: 1h55'08"
Performance: *****
Pery is definitely on form! Can't wait to see him open his calendar!
Pery looks focused
Pinoy
Target: 1h57'45"
TIME: 2h00'03"
Performance: *
No. NO. NO!
Pery slowly arises
Russo
Target: 1h56'45"
TIME: 1h54'36"
Performance: *****
Russo impressed! To say the least, he really performed admirably!
Russo speeds up through the village
Scogin
Target: 1h55'00"
TIME: 1h54'04"
Performance: ****
Though Scogin was the fastest of the morning, it wasn't his best.
Scogin goes on the ascent
Scogin posts a fastish time
Scott
Target: 1h57'00"
TIME: 1h58'55"
Performance: **
He did OK. Or so the directors say.
Scott keeps climbing

So close to his target! He'll do better in the afternoon.
St. Ledger is struggling a little
Svensson
Target: 1h57'45"
TIME: 1h56'42"
Performance: ****
Really strong last kilometer, but didn't stay high paced.
Svensson has someone in the distance?
Vyncke
Target: 1h57'30"

Performance: ****
Did well on the course, but still needs a little improvement.

what happened to Pye in the evening?
Good to see I beat my target time in all 3, although for some reason I had an Italian flag instead of a Sammarinese one.
