AG2R are safe, afaik.
And they're really not crap anymore, imo. Pozzovivo, Betancur, Appollonio, Bagdonas, Chainel, Dumoulin and Hutarovich are just a few of their new signings.
EDIT: Zabel'd by Alakagom.

Forgot about transfers...
It's a tough call for the UCI. All 4 have a strong claim to the WT.

Were you seriously discussing here that Argos might be better team than Saxo? I would recommend you to wake up and watch some cycling. Saxo has the best stage-racer of the decade and multiple GT top 10 riders, Kreuziger is 26 years old and won WT races+ white jersey at Giro in 2011, it is not like he ended his career by then.

I can't see Argos getting that WT-spot. Doesn't matter as they will get most wildcards anyway. |

Indeed, they'd be better off, I think. They can pick their WT races they want to contest in. |

That is a good read.
But it is funny how he first explains why people are doping and then suggests to allow doping substances which are natural to the body but ban others. |

Argos raced 18 out of 28 WT races last season. When they end up in PCT again and can race the same races again, there is no problem. I am from the Netherlands so probably biased, but I think Argos is the most popular PCT team at this moment and I hope to see them race alot WT races coming season again |

Argos is definitely a very popular PCT team, that's correct. (well, depends on where you are, of course. But overall, yes)
They'll probably get any wildcard they ask, so not promoting wouldn't be that much of a disaster for them.
On the other hand, Saxo bank with Contador would get most of the wildcards they want, too. I think. |

The only bad thing about Saxo nog getting WT status is Contador not joining the Tour, at least, he is threatening with that. |

I don't see a problem with that. He is just one of the doped riders participating there, someone of them will win eventually. |

The Danish member of the UCI board Peder Pedersen want Bjarne Riis to comment on all the doping rumours/accusations against his team from former riders.
Perhaps a WT-license on the line?

surely they'd get a wildcard (if they didn't get WT status), so he'd ride anyway |

frankly it would depend who got the WT spots, and whether the ASO can deal with his (and Riis) checkered past
Dont forget Europcar and Saur will get wildcards. Plus AG2R if they are out, and Lotto if they are out.

Personally I'd like to see Argos and Lotto win the wildcards. Aside from obvious nationalism, I think that Riis has no place in today's top cycling. I also think that the UCI should support the development of sprinting as a discipline by granting the top sprinters teams a place in the WorldTour. |
