Stage 14 Vuelta a España
And we enter the decisive days of this year Vuelta. 8 stages left, the next four all fitted to climbers with high mountains during and at the end of the stage. Then, 2 days for sprinters, then Bola del Mundo and the final ride to Madrid. So, on points classification it will be hard to hold the 19 points Rojas have to Contador with 3 sprint vs 5 mountain stages left. With Greipel, Goss and Degenkolb in great shape it will be even harder!
So today we have 150 km of inclined race, with 2 third category, 1 second category and 1 first category climbs before the final ascent to Puerto de Ancares.
With 25km to go Cesar Veloso and André Cardoso have 2'3 on the peloton and they've just passed the 1st category climb of Alto Folgueiras de Aigas. Saxobank team is coming with a high pace.
With 7km to go seems that Antón is not holding the pace. With Rodriguez next to Contador is Spilak who attacks. Only André Cardoso is now at the front with 1' to the peloton.
Rodriguez attacks and Contador follows!
Contador wins the stage! Rodriguez is 2nd.
Cobo and Quintana are third and fourth.
Lopez and Agostinho are 5th and 6th, with Spilak arriving with them.

Contador and Podriguez are too strong, but the team is getting a great 3-4-5. And 5th for Agostinho will be excellent!

Stage 15 Vuelta a España
With Contador and Rodriguez on another level, the biggest worry towards the podium place is now Zubeldia. So with Cobo holding on well, Quintana and Agostinho might have some freedom to try something.
Today we have another mountains day with the end at the mythic Lagos de Covadonga.
Movistar decided to put Rojas on the break and the first 4 points are his.
With no opposition Rojas takes again the 4 points. 67km to go and 4'08 advantage to the break.
With 30km to go Zubeldia crashes!
And Agostinho tries an attack. 8km to go, let's see what the other teams will do.
After Rodriguez attacks, Contador responds and launches a powerful counter-attack.
And another huge demonstration of strength from Contador.
Agostinho is 2nd in front of Rodriguez, Cobo and Quintana.

Stage 16 Vuelta a España
And another mountain stage with two 1st categories before the final climb.
Movistar has again Rojas on the break and this time...Agostinho is there too. But the peloton is chasing and soon they'll be caught.
With 24 km to go and almost reaching the final climb there are 3 men on front: S. Sanchez, Caruso and Gusev. There are other intermediate groups of riders between them and the Contador, Rodriguez and Movistar men.
With 13 km to go Contador launches his attack.
Guess who won?
Sanchez was second, Rodriguez third and Quintana fourth.

Ah, Agostinho is also 8 minutes from the podium. But Quintana will surely get it as Cobo form is quite decreased. But 5th place is great, let's see if he holds it.
Contador is really fresh, no other stage race after his ban. Impossible to beat! |

Yeah, those two seem too much. Though it's pretty obvious your team is right there, just a small step beneath them |

Stage 17 Vuelta a España
And another stage fitted to the climbers. With Quintana and Cobo on good position for the podium, it seems Movistar has it assured. The first two places seem to be of no discussion.
With 20km to go Rojas is on the BOD with 10 other guys and they have 5'11 on the fast pace from Saxobank.
As we enter the last kilometre Rojas managed to hold to Lagutin and Carrasco, does he have enough strenght to win?
And Lagutin wins! Rojas is 4th and that will give him some points.

Stage 18 Vuelta a España
Today's stage is for the sprinters so Movistar will work all day to Rojas.
With 7km to go the break is caught and the trains are formed.
And a very powerful sprint by Greipel beating Cav, Degenkolb and Goss.
Rojas was stuck and didn't managed better than 11th place, which gives him only 5 points so he's still 20 points behind Contador.

Stage 19 Vuelta a España
Today the last few meters are not completely flat what can give Rojas a chance. He'll have to make a good result here in order to go for the green jersey.
The final sprint is launched...
...and Cavendish finally wins a stage on this Vuelta. This time Rojas was on the discussion and finished 5th, with Agostinho also sprinting very well and making a 7th place.

Grand Prix Cycliste de Québec
And Movistar traveled to Canada to participate on the two hilly WT classics. The team brought the following riders:
- Andrey Amador
- Marsio Bruzeghin
- Jesús Herrada
- Beñat Intxausti
- Pablo Lastras
- Branislav Samoilau
- Alejandro Valverde
- Francisco Ventoso
The shape is not ideal as almost no one have competed on the last month. Ventoso is making a fabulous season, winning several classics, so let's see what he can do. The presence of Valverde is also important for the team.
Gilbert, Cancellara, Flecha and Breschel are on the top of the betting houses.
The 200 km of up and down make this race a hard one...
With 20km to go there are 4 men escaped (Scarponi among them) with 1'20 on the peloton.
Oh my! Intxausti has fallen and a lot of guys crash after him. Spoiler Kreuziger has broke his leg and ended his season today
Last km! Valverde, Ventoso and Lastras are on a good position...
And Ventoso beats his team mate Valverde to another great win!
