Action wise it was lite, but I still quite enjoyed the stage, quite telling who is good/who is bad.
Anyways, who expected big attacks this early in the Vuelta?

Who cares about a top-15?
A shame about Chris Anker. I missed the stage (again... I've only been able to watch yesterday's stage so far), but if Moreno wheel-sucked, it wouldn't have been fun to watch anyway ;( |

There's no such thing as too skinny for a climber. Remember Chicken?

Or maybe you just watched it in wrong resolution, because to me he didn't look different than in other races?
And before writing of Anton, remember he only lost like... minute and a half. |

I dunno if he's fat or not, but he lost a minute and a half over a group of 30 (!), so he'll have to build form very quickly if he wants to have a shot at the overall. I won't write him off yet, but it looks really bad for his chances.

Maybe my reference won't be very good, because Sastre was doing pretty good today. But remember, that Sastre in his best years always suffered in first week of GTs and usually build his form during the GT. If that's the case with Anton, I have only one problem with this, there isn't really hard mountain stages in last week. |

2008: Breakout year as a big time GC guy
2009: Crap
2010: Nearly won the Vuelta
2011: Crap
2012: Vuelta Winner?

Euskadi should really focus on Nieve. Top 10 is most likely now. |

2007 wasn't crap though. But I have no doubt he has a Vuelta, and maybe a Giro if he goes for it, in his legs. He just needs to avoid screwing up as last, and apparently this, year.

If Anton doesn't lost time tomorrow (unlikely) he will have chances to win |

In 2007 and 2009 he rode Tour and was horrible there. Based on that logic 2011 shouldn't be crap.
And winning Zoncolan already makes your year some kind of successful.
