Frank's attack was like the ones that use to do Evans. Attack a the last 2 km to gain 20 seconds.
Sorry, but with this you win a stage, an Amstel GR or a WC, not a GC. |

Haha, good one Ruben.. Your ego is probably too big to accept that Frank Schleck attacked and more importantly that he is a threat in GC to every guy including Contador and Evans.

Boy, I'm so glad we have 75-80 kg riders once again just shredding away those smaller, indecisive would-be climbers. Day after day. After day. It so reminds me of a more naive, some would call it better time. A time where anything was possible.
Never.

What an awesome ride by eddy the boss. 2nd stage win at the tdf ! Just amazing.
@mcewenrobbie Robbie McEwen
Saw some ambition/ability conflicts in that descent. Though, the rubber under you can make a massive difference.
@RaphaJ John Herety
Some pretty dodgy descending today Surprised the Schlecks didn't crash the amount of looking backwards they did. Contador though impressive
@martinwitney Martin Witney
@itvcycling #tdf Worried about snow at the top of the Galibier? It's ok, apparently there is a Thor coming. :-/

Okay, I throw the towel in the scandinavian battle...congrats to Norway, Edvald and Thor..respect!

today's stage finish makes sense when you hear that EBH had ridden the descent 3 times before, Plucky Tommy and Hivert hadn't

Wtf my ego? I don't have an ego or otherwise I would not come here day in and day out after so many of my 'predictions' have failed. A guy with ego would stay away.
You are to blind to see that Fränk is a limited rider with very limited capabilities who is never going to win a GT, we saw last Vuelta already.
Nice guy, working hard, kinda like Boogerd, but not able to win anything. In the hilly classics too many can out sprint Fränk and he can't drop them. Only classic Fränk won was when he was unknown and he could ride as a suprise.
And in GT's he usually only has 1 very good day, where he gets maybe 20 sec max. Other days he gets dropped and he has an awful ITT.

Still a bit touchy ^^, saying you have a big ego isn't a massive insult
but true a slightly bit provocative.

Sorry to say it, by I remember your 2 months away from this web, still no ego?
But no, I overreacted indeed, I didn't mean any offence in it, I am sorry for that.

Oh common, last Vuelta isn't the best example, because he really wasn't fully prepared for that race, I think you remember what I mean.. But partly, I agree, he has two big problems, bad sprint and quite bad time trial.

Firstly I don't think that Giro dell'Emilia, Tour de Suisse or Criterium International are that small wins.. But yeah, he has smaller chances of winning classics/stages because of his poor sprint, maybe quite like Boogerd, you made quite good point.

I don't think it's about good days. I think it's way more about bad days. And usually he has 1-2 bad days in mountain stages in GT. And his TT isn't in present as bad as he had in history. I bet he won't loose more that 2.30 in the final TT on Contador.
But anyway, you say "Nobody cares about Frank"? If I remember right, every time he attacks in GT, there is some rider who is on his wheel.. And in the end he is quite similar rider like Gesink IMO. So you can say nobody cares about Gesink in GTs as well?

Andy Schleck: "I'm a very good descender"
Cadel Evans: "I got caught behind Andy Schleck and I couldn't get around him. He was so out of control I was afraid to try or he might crash me"
lulz

To calm down the Norwegians, the Isle of Man has the same amount of victopries than you with just 1 rider.
To get them excited again, Pedro Delgado thinks EBH will be a GT contender in 2 years. Discuss.

Has anyone else seen what Frank Schleck said today? Appearantly todays descent was way to dangerous and it shouldn't have been allowed because Contador and Sanchez to get away due to it. Also, he doesn't think that downhilling is part of what a complete cyclist is?
Atleast that's what the Norwegian newspapers are saying...
Let me get this straight; according to the Schlecks a "complete rider" is one who can't downhill, can't sprint, can't ride on cobbles, but who can only climb? I've always liked both Schlecks, but lately I've been kinda fedd up with the excuses.
I think that the Tour should determine who is the best complete rider, that means one who can ride on cobbles, who can downhill, who can timetrail and climb.
Unfortunately for Andy and Frank, Sanchez, Contador and Evans can do all those things! |
