Valverde was allowed to keep the Vuelta, so Contador if banned, would be allowed to keep the Giro, should he win.
Valverde was banned in 2010 though, and lost all his results of that season. If he would have been banned in late 2009, then he wouldn't have kept his Vuelta win.

I'm not saying he will/won't keep the Giro, but the logic behind that reasoning is wrong. |

On the other hand, all of Valverde's results during 2010, including his wins in Tour Mediterranéen and Tour de Romandie, were stripped.
Edit: Too late.

Except for Contador win , the result are strange , maybe the contenders are not that good. I mean Siutsou is going the same time as Nibali & Arroyo. Scarponi doing the same time as Dupont ? They can't win Giro if they're doing the same time as Dupont (no offence , i am just realistic ) |

The Giro isn't Spanish, so probably not. But I fear Contadope will be deemed "clean", ride and win the Tour, and then get persuaded by Riis to do the "impossible" and ride the vuelta, and win it by a few seconds like he won the Giro from "training" on the beach.

What has happened to Szmyd and Spilak? Both finished almost 24 minutes behind |

I think we have just to face it, nobody can outperform Alberto, (perhaps Andy), in my opinion the only way the Nibali's, Garzelli's and Scarponi's can make time is with a Rest of the World vs Contador tactic. The guy is a freaking rocket.
Great job Rujano. Where was Serpa? lol

Rujano is going to finish 2nd in every mountain stage, gain minutes on the steep climbs, finish 2nd in the GT, and then Contador gets DQ-ed |

Still, I don't see how the "the Rest of the World vs. Contador" tactic should work.
So, Nibali attacks. The rest will wait for Contador to do the work. When Nibali is brought back, Scarponi attacks.
Is that the theory?
In that case, let me counter with this: Contador attacks and wins. Or Nibali attacks, Contador counters, Contador wins. |

I must say that I never expected Nibali and co to be that bad. They aren't even a threat to Contador.
Hah, Nibali is never going to be a threat to Contador. Only Andy will ever be. |

Are you so sure? If Contador rides Vuelta, as he have said, he can be beaten by that "unknown" guy from Euskaltel, who says that his main goal this year is victory at Vuelta. |

The theory of that tactic is based in that the attacks should be from a long distance. It won't happen. So, this Giro is Contador's to lose. |

I know I already said this, but he can't counter attack everyone in hilly stages where there are sometimes parts with 20kms of flat (or Mountain stages without uphill finish). Just the only possibility except from a crash...

Chapeau to Contador.
I suppose if he's in good shape now it makes sense for him to get in front and spend the last week of the race conserving energy and marking the other contenders with his other eye on the TdF.
Still, I hope they get him and ban him. |
