Yeah according to the belgian commentators there wasn't going to be a podium ceremony. |

WW's wife is pregnant as well, if the situation could get any worse.
Please let him be ok

Yeah, and this makes me feel slightly bad for Vicioso. His best ever result and he doesn't even get to celebrate

I haven't seen it and don't plan on doing so, but it sounds horrible. May God be with Wouter and his family now. |

Well, that puts everything in perspective. So horrifically sad - please be ok...
If it makes any difference, Millar's in the pink. |

According to a Luxembourgian newspaper and the German ESP guys he was brought into the hospital after several minutes of reanimations.
Hope he get well soon. |

I suggest tomorrow's stage should be neutralised and the Leopard team gets to cross the finish first. |

You know this is the second time a rider nearly died in the giro. Remember Horrillo in 2009. Even though I think the giro route is awesome, they should pay more attention to rider's safety. Of course this is very easy to say afterwards.

Exactly. It's the right desicion, but it's awful for him. What should be the greatest moment in his caareer means nothing. |

Didn't see Weylandt's crash, don't plan on seeing it.
Turned off the coverage now, too, since the talk about him is rather saddening and concerning. Such a shame, and I just hope that he's okay. I'm sure all of our thoughts go out to him and his family.

You have to wonder about the Monte Crosti descent... |

Apparently Wouter still had a pulse when he was taken by the helicopter. Hope all goes well for him. |

UCI want to ban Race Radio's, its dangerous enough with them, without them the sport will see more day's like this, and Race organisers really need to double check descents very carefully.

just heard heard they got his pulse back in helichopper but if its true that it took 15 mins to get him to the chopper it still means he could be braindead.
I just hope his ok. |

Not the best time for a race radio discussion. And possibly not the thread.

Terrible day for the Giro and cycling. All of my prayers go to Weylandt and his family. |
