They'll supply bikes to Garmin but the team itself is gone. Hammond, Klier, Hushovd and Haussler will also move over.
God damn it, when we finally have a team with an intelligent manager who actually gives a damn about fighting doping and doesn't sweep it under the rug.....the team folds.
I hope Vroomen finds a way to start a new team, somehow.
Vroomen will still be around, just not as a team owner. But I sure hope he still puts his views out there because they were very refreshing to read.

One for the Brits here:
Bob Maitland, silver medal in the 1948 London Olympic Games Road Race has died in France aged 86.
He suffered from a heart attack on the 4th August.
RIP

A possible Garmin-solutions with sprinters:
Ask them what they want, and compromise. (Haussler for Giro, Farrar for Tour and Hushov for Vuelta), one GC each. For example.

Works great for everyone except Haussler and Hushovd. |

Exactly! Farrar's too fast

In what way. Maybe getting over harder climbs. Farrar is better at sprinting, much better. Hushovd can beat Farrar on cobbles though. |

WC for example ca.230km is to long for farrar i my opinion. He had no chance in Milan-San Remo Farrar to get on top 3 while hushovd has. But think 2009. Hushovd had his sprint practise and sprinted side by side against Cavendish. Farrar did not

I think Farrar is perfectly capable of riding 230km. He did end up 5th in the Ronde van Vlaanderen this year. |

And one could argue that doing the Ronde is a lot harder than 230km of the WC route.

He did end 5th, after being dropped numerous times and was never even close to being even the 15th strongest in the race.
But as always, after the Bosberg when the winners have gone, the group falls still and sprinters can return.
Please don't overrate Farrar as classics rider just because he got 5th in Flanders. |

Except that both races are ~250 km. |

You're right about that but still, he should have a good chance as the WC is less tough than the Ronde. |

tee-hee Sprints
Hagen will be a very very good rider - but he's not a pure sprinter.

I don't think anyone is rating him as a new Boonen or anything. It was just a way of pointing out that Farrar has the endurance to perform in long races.
NORSPEED, no one is hating on Thor or anything. But people are just pessimistic about his ability to regain his sprint speed. |
