Could've just as easily been for himself. Don't know who has #7, but he was the guy who was with Contador the most. And as has been said, stupid end by Vino |

Contador was going to renew his contract, was he? I doubt it, now.
contador punctured in the last few meters, it's possible that vino didn't notice that. on the other hand vino worked really hard in the group (probably the only one relaying) and he managed to keep the gap with the front group very close. |

Very sad about Frank Schleck. That looked like dislocated shoulder or collarbone for me. And so far he didn't make the finish line so sad about that and very Unlucky Chavanel but on the other hand he was very lucky yesterday so fairly enough!
Got annyoed by Hushovd. HE DIDN"T WORKED AT ALL JUST SITTING AT THE WHEEL OF FABIAN AND WINNING A STAGE SO SELFISH ---,---
As a norwegian, I have to defend "my" guys.
EBH was with Wiggins all the time to the last cobblestonesection, where he dropped back to Chavanel's group.
What should Hushovd done? What should all the other riders except Cancellara done? Just give away the stage win to Cancellara, because he did what he could to give time to A. Schleck?
so affectively Hushovd just did the same thing as Cancellara yesterday not pacing the group because of Sastre behind. Then why he removed Cancellara's attempt to breakaway? Cancellara isn't GC contender...
BTW. Armstrong was also great however his team Radioshack was useless today only Popovych was capable of helping his leader. |

Voigt was really upset in an interview after the stage, indirectly saying he wants to beat up the stage maker.
The team would give the time gained and the yellow jersey to get Frank back.
Frank has got a broken collarbone and maybe some other injuries

As annoying as it may be, while it is not in Hushovd's interest to gain time, it is in his interests to take as many points, and win the stage - so of course he was going to chase Cancellara.

Cycling needs new commentators though. I find myself shouting corrections at Liggett and Sherwen all the time (dunno what that says about me though).
Unlucky for chavanel and schleck sr.
I agree, its funny how we find out all the random info like Shlecks injury and Contadors puncture on forums because the commentators wont find out for a few hours. And they just repeat themselves over and over, i know it comes with the job of cycling commentator but the random facts about how Hushovd can climb hills and how great Lance is...
I really enjoy the work of Danish commentators Dennis Ritter, Jørgen Leth and Rolf Sørensen. The first is the commentator, Leth knows every anecdote and every area and building in France and Sørensen likes talking about him self (and how it is to ride in the peloton).
Also they seem to listen in on radio tours to get up to date quickly.
I only need to learn danish and buy that danish tv channel

No, the reason he didn't relay was definately not Sastre. It was that he wanted as many points as whatever possible. He relayed minimal because he probably knew that his chances of winning the sprint in the group and the chances of winning the "bunch" sprint if the chasing group would catch up with them, he would still have a great chance of winning the stage. That was also the reason why he pulled back Cancellara, he wanted the points. I think he didn't care at all for Sastre... And why should he? |

I hate to defend him, but Vino was looking all the time to check if Contador was with him. I think he really did a great job for Alberto.
I think he just did not realized that Contador had a puncture...
I know is most hated rider but let's be fair for onces |

Thanks 100% agree he did a massive work after the split and should be thaked for that. Contador really lost few time compared to what it would have been without Vino.

Heroic stage again by Cadel. After the stage win on strande bianche in the Giro, now a podium finish in a mini-Roubaix stage. He's starting to love cobbles and become a classic specialist rather than a better GC rider. I hope he will make a top 7-8 here, i'm conscious he will crack at least once in the Pyrenees.
PS: Great ride by VDB too, interesting to see him in the mountains. Can't wait! |
