Saxo Bank for the Giro
Chris Sörensen
Gustav Larsson
Nicki Sörensen
Baden Cooke
Laurent Didier
Lucas Sebastián Haedo
Michael Morkov
Anders Lund
Richie Porte
For most of them it's a case of "do something for once, or find a new team". Sörensen is the GC leader, and he better do something, since he's been talking about "my big goal the Giro" since December.
Meanwhile, Bouygues is sending a very good team
Yukiya Arashiro
William Bonnet
Anthony Charteau
Mathieu Claude
Guillaume Le Floch
Damien Gaudin
Joahnn Tschopp
Yuriy Trofimov
Thomas Voeckler
Let's hope Voeckler can get the stage he tried so hard to get last year

There's no GC leader due to the fact that Chris Anker Sørensen broke his collarbone at the Vuelta a Catalunya. Hasn't been riding since and isn't selected for the Tour of Romandie either - so he'll show up at the Giro with pretty much zero racing. |

I'm aware of that, but that hasn't stopped Kim Andersen saying they feel they have a good shot with Sörensen, so it seems to me that he's the designated hope all the same.
Especially since the mountains are pretty much all in the last week.

That's not what Bjarne Riis said yesterday, though.
"We have had to change our ambitions. With the situation that Chris is in, it's no longer realistic for him to go for the overall classification"
Good to see that the two bosses agree |

Saxo Bank is such a wonderfully organized team
Oh well. Andersen's likely leaving at the end of the season anyway.

Booo, no Trusov for the Giro I coulda sworn he got a top 10 in one stage last year, surely that's enough to get a place?
EDIT: Ah wait, that'd be the year before where he got 2, and last year he rode the Tour, so I guess he might be lined up for that again.

Rigoberto Urán Urán. Retarded first name and identical surnames. His parents are either should be shot, or are cousins.....and should be shot.
Anyway, on to real news.

Quickstep. That's an easy one to predict.
Unless Valv. finally sods off. Then it might be Caisse.
Is there already a new spnsor for Caisse or do they even continue. I haven`t really followed their situation. |

Kadri (AG2R)
Face criminal charges after a Belgian environmental group saw them throw away bottles/rubbish on the road side, at the Fleche. It's ilegal under walloon law.

Pretty unbeleivable if you ask me. The riders might have to carry seperate garbage/rubbish (i know you brits call it that) bags around with them in the race if Environmental groups start making WILD accusations.

Remember when I said that Saxo Bank had already picked a squad of 10 riders for the Tour (leaving only 1 to be 'cut)?
Riis has now guaranteed a spot to Matti Breschel, Jakob Fuglsang and Nicki Sørensen - and if Chris Anker Sørensen can handle it after the Giro, he's selected as well.
That leaves us with 6 candidates for 5 spots: Andy Schleck, Fränk Schleck, Fabian Cancellara, Jens Voigt, Stuart O’Grady and Gustav Larsson.
So ultimately, either O'Grady or Larsson. It's probably the latter who'lll not feature in the final squad. |
