Yeah ... I get side-tracked a lot. One thing I will promise that season 1 will be finished before PCM11 is released. You can hold my word on that!

Paris - Correze Stage 2 Report
After Lovkvist mistimed his attack in the first stage, today will have to be all or nothing. And for an added incentive for Thomas, he comes in as the favourite.
Daniel Martin gets into the morning breakaway with 11 other riders looking just for a stage win, with everyone at least 5 minutes back.
There hopes may be answered, they hold a 7 minute lead over the first climb.
It grows to 10'30'' over the second climb. Martin starts to conserve energy within the breakaway ...
Saxo Bank finally realizes the threat at hand and cuts the gap to 4 minutes. But it stays right around 4 minutes for 15kms.
With 20 kms to go, Martin unleashes hoping for a stage win. He is countered by Svein Tuft. Tuft had more energy than Martin. Daniel can't even break off. Tuft is successful and is now alone up front.
Lovkvist hears over the team radio that Martin has no energy left, and Thomas catches the peloton off guard and attacks on the downhill leading to the last hill. José Iván Gutiérrez is the only top climber to realize that Lovkvist has attacked.
With 10 kms to go, Lovkvist hasn't caught Martin yet but he is riding away from the chasing peloton.
Lovkvist meets up with Martin and he now realizes a stage win is right in front of him in Tuft. Who happens to be up their because of Martin's failed attack.
No problem for Lovkvist ... Martin is reassured that he didn't cost EA-Sony a win.
Thomas Lovkvist doesn't disappoint. EA-Sony first win since Stage 1 of the Tour de Delta, back on July 9th. Lovkvist also finishes 3rd overall, and wins the sprint classification.

Interview - Thomas Lovkvist
Q: Great win today, it looked like EA-Sony hit a bump in the last few months, is August going to turn that around?
A: With 2 team goal races this month ... I would hope so. But on the other hand there a lot of flat stages this month so the only way I could see August being a success for the team is if Talansky shows strength that was yet to be seen this year. So we will see ...

Would have been nice to see Daniel Martin stick up there for a top 5, and for Lovkvist to have gained enough time for 1st in GC. But, hey you can't get all the results you want. So overall yes it was a great stage for the team.

Sparkassen Giro Race Report
Our Riders -
This is the last prep-race for Talansky and Peraud before they take on our team goal race the Dutch Food Valley Classic in a weeks time. Hopefully the finish does come down to a sprint so Talansky and Peraud can work on the lead-out. But a morning breakaway could spoil our plans.
A very large breakaway does get away with 17 riders. We can only hope that we will get help from other teams to pull them back.
They are eventually pulled back, but it caused great pain to Talansky who looks to be not even close to contending form.
So in order to have any chance at the win today Larsson bolts off the front with 9kms to go.
But only lasts up front for a few kms before the sprinters take over the finish. Talansky is well off the back and Peraud is fading back as well.
The Germans Robert Wagner and Sebastian Siedler fight for the win.
Wagner rounds the corner and beats Siedler by a bike length. And also shows the fans a great balancing act during his celebration.
Results -
My game doesn't like exporting just single race tours for some reason .
If anyone has a solution I'm all ears.

I can only hope that Talansky will be ready. But I think I started his prep-races to late, so this might be the hardest team goal to achieve.

Ah, well it took me another two weeks to put up another report ... I'm having problems with balancing my time with a new job, but don't get me wrong the story will go on. But instead of finishing before the release of PCM11 might not happen. It is more realistic that season 1 will be complete when the PCM.Daily DB is made for the game, because it gives me alot of time during my summer break to work on the story. Here is the next race ...

Peraud and Talansky look to surprise the other sprinters today with hopefully a top 5 to make the team 4 for 4 on goals this year. But with Talansky yet to show any signs of a true sprinter, this looks like the hardest goal to achieve so far.
A strong two rider morning breakaway gets a health gap, but they couldn't keep their tempo in the last quarter of the race.
With the breakaway within viewing distance the peloton eases up with 45kms to go. Leaving the door open for a few brave fighters.
And then the strong climbers get in on the action, including Caruso.
With 20 km to go, the two original breakaway riders are joined by the fighters and climbers to form a dangerous group up front.
The tempo picks up by the sprint trains, creating crashes in the back. And takes down our rider Moses Crawford. He should be quite happy with some brief recognition and also comes away without an injury.
With the pressure on the breakaway, a few riders touch wheels and hit the pavement right in front off the charging peloton. But are able to crawl over to the shoulder before the peloton are able to reach them.
With 7km to go the sprint trains shallow up the other breakaway riders, but Peraud and Talansky were shuffled to the back in the process.
And just couldn't make there way back to the front. EA-Sony fails their first goal of the season here today in the middle of August. At the line Tom Veelers and Robert Wagner go 1-2 for Skil-Shimano.

Q: Well since we couldn't find Talansky, thank you for accepting our interview. What, if anything, can you take away from today's disappointing result.
A: Coming in today we know Talansky wasn't in great form, just good form. So I guess to answer the question, we have to take training and prep-races seriously otherwise the results we want wouldn't come. And Lovkvist and Larsson provide great role models for that example. They work hard everyday and they are reward with great results when the time comes. And even I have been reward with my tour at Circuit Sarth-Pays de la Loire.

First of all nice to see another report from you
Pity that you miscalculated a little with Talansky's form. But one non-achieved goal isn't too bad. Good luck for the next races!

Larry H. Millar Tour of Utah Stage 1 Report
Our Riders -
The team stays in America after the brutal performance at the Dutch Food Valley Classic. Hopefully the hills of Utah will provide better results. This tour is made up of 5 stages. Starting with today's hilly stage followed by small mountain stage tomorrow. Then a flat stage 3 for the sprinters before heading to the decisive mountain stage. Then finishes up with a flat 19km ITT. So with that in mind we brought our two Ireland climbers to tag-team with Larsson. All three have the opportunity to finish the tour within the top 5.
A large 14 rider morning breakaway gets away with a lot of young American riders looking for their first win of the season, and for some their career.
The breakaway holds a 1'31'' gap as we reach the final hill before the decent back down to the finish. Daniel Martin makes the first move in the peloton to see if any of the other favourites like Rory Sutherland counter his move.
At first Sutherland held back realizing that it was a decoy attack, but with the peloton slowing down as well, Sutherland finally made his move. With set-up the attack for Deignan and Larsson. Our plan had worked to perfection.
And Larsson just keep going, leaving Deignan behind with Martin and Sutherland. Gustav was now right between the morning breakaway (35'' Ahead) and his teammates/Sutherland (20'' Behind).
With 10 kms to go, Larsson caught the original breakaway riders, and Sutherland was doing all the pace making in the group behind. Martin and Deignan now were just along for the ride.
Larsson now pushing the tempo up front gain time on Sutherland's group each kilometer.
The sprint kicks up between the remaining breakaway riders that sill have legs left, as Larsson certainly doesn't any more after creating a 1'36'' gap back to Sutherland's group in a matter of 8kms.
Deignan makes a last ditch effort 3kms out with a gutsy attack, and is rewarded with a 19th place finish right before the sprinters but doesn't get a time bonus.
Frank Pipp takes all the honor today at the line, getting his first win of the season. Bissell should be very happy with their rider today. And we also come away with a great result as well with a big time gap back to the major contenders.

Interview - Gustav Erik Larsson
Q: Do you now see yourself winning this tour without any problems?
A: First off I would like to thank Martin and Deignan for their effects today, without them I would have never reached the breakaway riders. To answer your question, I would have to say I have a 85% chance now to win the tour. I'm afraid of the two mountain stages, but I always have that stage 5 ITT to fall back on in case I happen to lose some time.

Nice work with your tactics. Larsson can win it.
If I may give you a hint: If you attack that late and don't get a time gap to the peloton, you get a better position but you also reduce the gap to the leaders, in this case to Larsson. But it's your decision whether a 19th place is worth a couple of seconds of advance lesser.
Keep up the great work!

Yeah, I know. But for some strange reason the rest of the peloton wasn't even trying to pick up the tempo to reach Larsson. So I figured it was worth a shot to gain a few seconds, and it was working up until 1.5 kms to go when the few sprinters cut down the gap very quick. But overall I can't agrue over it because Larsson did come out with a nice time gap anyway.

Larry H. Millar Tour of Utah Stage 2 Report
After yesterday's performance by Larsson, we feel more in control for today's stage. With Sutherland proving to be our biggest threat, if any move is made it should be countered at all costs. And Martin and Deignan will look to protect Larsson unless extreme tactics are need to keep Sutherland under check.
Sutherland attacks early on the first slope, and being so far away we decided against following him. And it turned out to be the right decision as it turned out he was just interested in the KoM Points.
As we reached the crucial climb leading up to the last KoM points availably for today, the action started to pick-up. Taylor Phinney leads the breakaway, a future EA-Sony rider in 2011.
And over top, Phinney was still up front with David Tanner and Jamey Driscoll. A stage win was in their minds now, and possible the GC Lead.
Back in the peloton, Sutherland makes his move with just 1km from the top. Martin and Deignan counter the move for Larsson as he is struggling for position in the peloton.
Sutherland opens up a small gap back to Martin and Deignan.
With Larsson quickly regaining energy in the peloton, Martin and Deignan are told over the radio to head back into the peloton to chase down Sutherland for Larsson.
But Deignan had other plans, leaving Martin to help Larsson.
But his foolish attack didn't last long before he ended up back were he should have been, in the peloton.
The moment of truth for Larsson as we reached the last incline of the day. His GC hopes on the line with Phinney riding away, and Sutherland a minute up the road.
Larsson takes his chances on the downhill attack, after Deignan and Martin set a strong tempo up the climb.
Hold up ... what? Taylor Phinney rides away from his breakaway partners and gets the stage win and will have to wait to see if GC will also be his.
Larsson just couldn't close the gap, Sutherland takes a minute out of his time gap to Larsson. And Phinney steals the GC Lead.

Interview - Gustav Erik Larsson
Q: Future teammate steals the show today, and Sutherland also beats you to the line. Anything positive you can take away today?
A: Well, I'm only 3'35'' back on Phinney with a mountain stage and an ITT left to go. I'm still in good shape to leave Utah with the GC. And as of now I'm not really concern about Sutherland because he is still behind me. Right now I'm only looking forward.

Doesn't look bad, I think. Don't know about Phinney's mountain or Sutherland's TT stats, but a podium (at least) is in reach. Good luck for the next stages!

Update: I'm busy this weekend so don't expect any reports, but I should be able to post 2-3 over the weekdays next week. Sorry for the delay again ...
