At least we now know the first corner in the field is going to be very very important. With it being a tight 180 turn, only the first +- 5 riders can get through without problems. All others will be riding in eachothers way, and after one more such corner, the field will be strechted completely. If you're behind place 20 going into the field, your race is pretty much over already. |

good race by Stybar, and i suppose the Belgian worlds were half-saved by the 2 medals in that race.

Stybar indeed made true his role as favourite. Kinda like Vos this morning.
Albert weak though for abandoning. Nys, not too good either. He made a lot of mistakes. So Vantornout in the end the best Belgian. Kind of suprizing, but he's peaked here very good I guess.
Now, let's see if Albert will be able to win at least the Superprestige this season in the following two weeks. If not, his season will have ended as bad just as good as it started. |

Some U23 riders are forced to promote to Elite category before turning age of 23 (for example Walsleben last year, Meeusen this year...only what I remember). What is the rule for that, please? |

I believe that in the year they turn 23, they must promote to the Elites, but cannot ride for U23 and Elites in the same season.
So, for example if rider X turns 23 in december 2010, that means he becomes an elite in 2010. But since the cyclo cross season starts late 2009 already, he migth already be forced to ride with elites in november 2009, while still being 21.
This is just from what I remember. Havn;t checked anything, so I migth be wrong. |

Nys waited all race long, only to attack at the last possible moment on a climb. Perfect tactics by him, winning both crosses this weekend.
Stybar and Albert now on equal points with one SP cross left. Gonna be a good battle. |

It would be very disappointing for Albert if he doesn't win any of the cyclocross leagues. |

How many SP/GVA races are left this season? This is the first year ive watched cyclocross at all, so im still getting to grips with the riders but i have to say it is great.
As wilier say, it'd be a shame if Albert doesnt win one of the series as i do think that he has been the best this year. Just a shame that crash at nationals seems to have messed up his season a bit. I was gutted for him ar roubaix as he lost the world cup with one bad race, all because of one drunk fan. |

This sunday is the last Superprestige(Vorselaar) race, next sunday the last GVA race(Osstmalle).
Also, Oostmalle is the last important cross of the season. After that, it's pretty much over. |

Thanks mrlol. Ive kinda lost track of the standings in them. Is it still close between Nys, Styby and Albert in both of them? The last races should be real exciting if all 3 have a chance at winning.
Just another question as im still new to cross, i know Nys has won a number of world cups/GVA/SP titles, but how come he 'only' has one world championships? Has he bottled it on the day or is it more to do with Belgian tactics? Cheers in advance. |
